Cooking Runs in the Family

Don’t laugh at me, but I have screwed up instant potatoes! Yes I know you add water milk and butter. I forgot the milk. I was busy doing something else. I blame my mother. She’s forgotten a main ingredient in one of my favorite meals, not once, but twice. She was making Tuna Helper and I told her it tasted funny. She told me to be quiet and eat it. So I ate some more of it. And I was still complaining because it still didn’t taste right. So she starts listing what she all put in there: milk, water, tu–oh no, she forgot the tuna. This was like 10 years ago. And I admit I was about to let it go, but then 5 years ago she did it again. So now I never let her live it down. I know my sister, Lisa, has had her share of cooking debacles. I can only think one thing she always gets made fun of for something to do with Angel food cake, but you’d have to ask her. I think I was like 3 at the time. Granted that would make her 7.

CraneLake

Crane Lake Pinot Grigo. Not my favorite. Its drinkable, I will give it that. It was on sale 2 for $7.00. It was very light tasting and I easily drank the entire bottle without feeling anything. Funny thing, I went to a liquor store closer to my house and they were selling it for $11.00 a bottle. Ecco Domino is worth the $10.00 I pay for it, Crane Lake no way.

Spoiled Rotten

I tend to spoil things in my life.  My niece, my cat.  I’ve started to spoil my soon to be nephew (niece) also.  I just hope that I am not that bad when I have a kid myself.  Though if I spoil the kitty, why wouldn’t I spoil the kid?  Andy and I let Adi out onto the deck yesterday since it was such a nice day and we were sitting on the deck for awhile.   I would think that would make him happy enough.  No, he kept trying to get down the steps to the yard.  I didn’t want him in the yard for fear of him eating the grass and then throwing up once he got inside.  He wouldn’t stop trying either.  I threw him back into the house.  Then couple hours later we were sitting out there again and I let him out, thinking maybe he had learned his lesson.  Nope, tried to get down the steps.  You think I would have learned my lesson by now and not let him out.  But he meows like crazy to be let out and I don’t think he’s ever slept as soundly as he did last night, on top of Andy’s head.

No more Bush

No I’m not talking about the president. Although.. . . anyways. We decided that we would get rid of the bushes by our garage because they were very poorly placed. Every time we wanted to get into the garage, we would be attacked by branches. Here is the before picture:

I learned one thing. I like the pruning shears. Maybe a little too much. Yes, we knew ahead of time that we were taking both down. But if not I attacked it in the first few minutes to seal its fate.

Now we don’t know what to put there. Something since there is no grass, I’m open to any suggestions. But its so nice to actually be putting something of ourselves into the house other than decorating. Its finally feeling like its our house. In one month it will be a year here.

Broken

I was so not happy this morning. I went to upload my steps from my pedometer, you know, the 20,000 steps that I got for walking in WalkAmerica and my pedometer is now broken! It won’t upload. I think it may need a new battery, but if I take it out, it will lose all the memory. So not happy. :(

Mission Semi-Accomplished

backyards-003.jpg

Oh my Gosh! We actually did what we set out to do today. We were able to get a nice start on the backyard today. I took out a bush in the backyard, read, relaxed and did Walk America. This has been the most active and well planned out Saturday I’ve ever had. Don’t know if we will still do the movie tonight. We haven’t even had dinner yet and hubby’s not back from returning the trailer we borrowed. If anything, we can see it tomorrow night.

I have a problem . . . .

once I pick up a book to read, if at all possible I can not put it down (unless it sucks.) I just read two books, one last night, another today. I want to run out to the store to get another book. Its a beautiful day outside and I read. I do give myself credit I did sit outside and read and I did WalkAmerica. I had 12,000 step by noon. But have pretty much not gotten much more.

Full Itineary

Tomorrow should be a busy day. Andy and I are walking in WalkAmerica with my cousin and her little girl. I have walked in WalkAmerica like 6 years, but now I walk for Kait (my third cousin) and Maddie(my niece) and Dylan (my third cousin). They were all babies that were helped by the money March of Dimes raised.

After WalkAmerica, Andy and I have to go pick up the stones and bricks and railroad ties for the lanscaping in the backyard. And then the task of actually landscaping really begins. Plus we want to go see 300.

I’m on my way to bed in a few minutes because I know its going to be a long exhausting day. But I also know it will feel like I actually accomplished something too. Oh and I might throw in some shopping for me in there.

Never Enough

Andy and I worked about 6 hours overtime this week. We are trying to get back into it because there is so much we want to do. We are saving for our trip to Germany, we are saving to buy a new car (A Prius), we are trying to pay down loans, we are saving for a new washer and dryer. Why does it always seem no matter what you do, there will never be enough money? And Andy wants to wait until after we do not have any debt left to have a kids. I laughed at this comment because we are always going to have debt.

Penis Fish

Grey’s Anatomy tonight was okay.  It was getting back to normal, but I still feel like they are setting it up for the new series with Addison, and I don’t like that.  I used to really like Grey’s Anatomy.  I liked the storyline with Meredith and Derek and George and Izzie and Christina and Burke.  Now I only really like what they are doing with Christina and Burke.  I don’t like that Izzie and George slept together.  They were best friends.  That’s all they ever should have been.  And Mere and Derek.  They should not be giving them so much drama.  How many episodes did they actually have them happy together?   And now Mere losing a new person next episode?  Why can’t they go back to fun episdoes and not so much drama?  Did they forget where they came from?

OH the title of the blog is from the fish that swam up the guy who chooses who may become cheifs penis when he was peeing in the Amazon.  It was funny seeing all the guys cringe because I don’t really think it was faking.
