Baked Beans

I heard today Hugh Grant through some baked beans at the paparazzi. I found it quite amusing. I guess the beaned guy didn’t. He filed assault charges. I feel bad for Hugh Grant and any star out there. The paparazzi suck. They should leave them alone. And if they do get hurt in the line of duty, it should be a known hazard. Everyone has a right to their own privacy. Who cares if they are in movies? Who cares what they look like when they go out for coffee. Even though I love Johnny Depp, I wouldn’t want to see him plastered across every news paper just walking the dog or talking on the phone. I don’t need to see that. He’s a regular person. A regular hot person.

Heros Application

Andy and I are finally catching up on our Heroes watching. (Gotta love the DVR) We were wondering, what did the want ad at the Paper company say for Mr. Bennett to apply. What were the qualifications? Someone who obeys orders regardless of human life? Someone who can lie through their teeth to even their wife?

Adi’s B-day

Today is Adi’s 7th B-day. Doesn’t he look so happy? I’m sure he doesn’t like me announcing his age either. But oh well, hes a cat, what can he really do to me? Maybe thats why he has been so vocal today. We havent given him his gift. Wet food and also some balls with feathers on. For some reason, these are his favorite balls (I guess he doesn’t have any other balls to like, he’s fixed). everything-and-more-337.jpg

One book at a time

I have this problem.  I tend to read about 2 books at a time.  Right now, the reason is I have one for at work during breaks (since I don’t smoke like my husband) and one at home (in the bathroom).  I like to read whenever I get the chance.  I like reading in the bathroom.  And I’m talking just reading, not doing anything else.  Its a place where there is no distraction, well except for Adi when hes liking the tub.   I love to read.  I wish I could read as my job.  But words of caution while reading two books, if they are a part of the same series, try to keep the stories straight in you head.  Otherwise you may have not understand whats going on.

Shopping is a Must

So I’m on Kohl’s email list.  I did it so I could look at my registry for my wedding so I could see what people were buying me.  I’m a horribly impatient person :lol .  I just looked at the flyer and even though I really don’t need any new clothes, I want to stop there after work today.  I don’t need any new tank tops, but for 5 bucks is it wrong to buy some new ones?  I don’t really need any short sleeve shirts, but for 4.20 can I really pass it up?

What American Accent do you have?

I got this from Army Mom NJ webiste.  This is awesome because it did pick it out.  Just be careful if you are public and taking the quiz.  You will have to say the words out loud to actually know how you say something.

What American accent do you have?
Created by Xavier on Memegen.net

Northern. Whether you have the world famous Inland North accent of the Great Lakes area, or the radio-friendly sound of upstate NY and western New England, your accent is what used to set the standard for American English pronunciation (not much anymore now that the Inland North sounds like it does).

Take this quiz now - it’s easy!

We’re going to start with “cot” and “caught.” When you say those words do they sound the same or different?

Great American Beer Fest

Today I feel like I have been spelling American wrong. Anyways, about 2 years ago Andy asked me to go to Colorado with him to visit his best friend at the end of September. The reason we were going then was for the Great American Beer Fest. Beer companies from all over travel there and people buy tickets to have like a shot of beer from each booth. Me, I’m a Bud girl. As my husband would say, I have no taste in beer. I probably don’t, but I still went because I think its cool to say I’ve been there. I love that Point is sometimes there (Stevens Point, where I went to college) New Glaurus, WI based. IF you ever get a chance, try Spotted Cow, one of my favorites. The Beast (Milwaukee’s Best) always wins awards. I don’t know why. Even I have standards and do not drink the Beast. It is nice to be able to try many types of beer. I tried a lot I will probably never have again, but at least I know I don’t like Pale Ale.

Rachel Ray

If you don’t know, Lisa from My thoughts, ideas and Ramblings is my older sister.  She’s going to be on Rachel Ray tomorrow morning, so don’t forget to tune in.  She has a picture on her site showing what she looks like.  P.S  I’m the bride.

How I met your Mother

This is another one of my favorite shows. Especially last night’s repeat episode. It was the one where Robin reveals she’s a former Canadian pop star with the hit “Let’s go to the mall” (lets just say this song was in my head all day). And Barney and Marshall started a slap bet. This is what makes this show awesome. Barney and Marshall made a bet about what Robin’s secret was. Barney said porn, Marshall said not. So they put a slap bet on it, which even though I am a chick, I think is awesome. Well, Barney slapped too early. So Lily (the slap bet commisoner) gave Barney the option. Either ten slaps right away, or 5 slaps from now until eternity. Barney took 5 slaps til eternity. Marshall took one at the end of the show. But its awesome because they have and will bring it back in later episodes. You never know when it will happen. And when it does, its just so funny. Especially if you saw this episode. If you didn’t its still pretty funny seeing Barney get slapped.

CCQ

Oh this is my favorite recipe ever.

Chili Con Queso ( I usually cut in half)

Makes ½ gallon

½ lb real butter

1 cup flour — Roux

7 oz diced tomatoes

2 tsp crushed red pepper

½ small jar jalapenos

½ medium onion

8 cups skim milk

1 lb cheddar cheese, shredded

1 lb Monterey jack cheese, shredded

Dash of chili powder

2 tsp onion powder

¼ tsp ground cumin

1 tblsp garlic powder

1 tsp white pepper

dash of salt

First, make Roux, melt butter, slowly add flour to make a paste. Set aside and cool to room temp.

Combine tomatoes, red pepper, serrano and onion in a blender and smooth.

After Roux cools, add milk, stirring frequently to control lumps. Add the blender mixture to Roux, cook over low heat. Add cheese to mixture, continue cooking over low heat to avoid scorching. Add remaining ingredients.

** You can add more or less spices to suit your own flavor. The longer you cook, the thicker it gets, you can also add more flour to make it thicker.

This is supposedly the recipe some disgruntled Los Banditos employee posted on the internet. I changed some of the ingredients to suit my liking (serrano pepper instead of jalopeno.) We use different cheese everytime.
