Orlando, Florida

Andy has relatives half the year in Florida. One of these days, we should go down and visit them since Andy has never been to Disney World. But we probably wouldn’t stay with his relatives because their house is not big enough for us. We would need to get a hotel. Since we are saving up to pay off our loans so we can evenutally be debt free, we would like to have discount hotel reservations. Not only is there Disney World, the area is known for having at least 5 more major theme parks, luxiourous hotels, great resturants, etc. I think a week would not even be enough time to experience all that Orlando has to offer. Especially when we would have a nice hotel. I can spend a lot of time in a hotel when they offer the three things I need: a comfortable bed, a swimming pool and continental breakfast.

Matters of Seduction

Matters of Seduction by Amanda Stevens is a very typical romance novel. It is just one part of a Harlequin Intrigue series. The story centers around a top agent John Cahill getting ready for retirement. He works in the special crimes unit and he’s just burned out. He lost his wife and almost lost his daughter because of his job. He takes on Prudence Dunlop to the unit, in hopes of replacing him when he retires. Problem is, she is in love with him. Problem is, she is really good at her job. Problem is, he is falling in love with her too. The case they are working on is for the death of a friend of Pru’s. Will their love last through the case or will one be killed? The story is a good one, even though I figured out who the killer was halfway through the book. I would recommend it to those who want an easy mystery to wade through.

Outdoor Work

I have only been married for a little less than a year, but I know when to disappear when Husband is outside working on the patio and its not working. It is actually kind of amusing listening to three guys try to figure out how to fix the problem. We are re-laying our patio bricks down again, this time on top of weed barrier. But its nice that I go out there once the men calm down and I figure out how to fix the problem of the downhill bricks that makes so much more sense than what the men were going to do. That’s why they say behind ever man, there’s a smart woman.

Note to Self

When I want to take a shower, I need to remember not to start the clothes washer, unless I want a really cold shower.

Daycare Crossing

I don’t have children yet, but I do know from friends and relatives how hard it is to find a daycare provider. Its hard to find a place where you trust someone to watch your child and be actually affordable. Since I live in Wisconsin, right now the only metropolitan area is Milwaukee. There are a lot of daycares in Milwaukee. The site is easy to use, you just fill out a questionare online and the computer searches for the most suitable match. You don’t have to worry about them giving out your information to anyone but the daycare centers in the area. Hopefully this site will help all the parents out there find daycare for their children.

Lindsay Lohan

Did you hear Lindsay Lohan got a DUI and a car accident? The thing that upsets me the most is she shouldn’t care about the price of a taxi, chaffeur or limo. She was treated at a hospital for a minor chest injury. She could have killed someone. I think Lindsay needs to realize she does have a problem. She may also face felony charges for “contraband” in the car. Sources are saying the “contraband” is cocaine. I guess growing up in Hollywood really wasn’t good for her. I think her mom should have been more of a mother than a manager/friend.

Pirates of the Caribbean: At Worlds End

We went to the opening night of Pirates last night. I loved the movie. It was a nice ending, sort of. Of course, it left it open for more movies. Johnny Depp is an awesome and for those of you that love Johnny you get to see a lot of him as Captain Jack Sparrow. It was worth the year I had to wait to see the third one. It wrapped up all the story lines. I laughed, I could have cried and it was a great almost three hours of my life. I never once checked the time on my watch. Keira Knightley shines in the movie as Elizabeth Swan. Orlando Bloom’s character Will becomes the man he was intended to be. And did I mention the monkey is back! And Keith Richards as Jack’s father. Andy doesn’t think they put any makeup on Keith. It’s funny because with all the swaying and mannerism that Johnny does, you can tell he’s acting. I’m not so sure with Keith Richards! I know they have to stop the movies some time, but it would be nice to see Captain Jack again. I think he really brought Johnny Depp back into the movies. Plus these are movies his kids can watch! I’ve always loved Johnny Depp. He’s my one fantasy person, ever since 21 Jump St. Yes I actually saw it in first run, too, my sister liked to watch it!

Free Calorie Counter

Since I have started using my pedometer and really becoming aware of the exercise I do, I have only lost 10 pounds, and lose half and gain in back every other week. I know I need to do something about my diet. The first thing I should do is use a calorie counter.. I know I eat a lot of stuff that is not good for me. Like my favorite food chili con queso. I know if I really sat down to count calories, I do not think I would really be able to conciously eating it anymore. The best thing about this is that it is a free calorie counter. It is nice not having to pay to be healthy. It is expensive to be healthy and I think that is why insurance companies are helping out with getting people healthy as well as this site. Hopefully all my calorie counting will help me lose the other 20 pounds I want to.

Acapulco Nights

When I was a sophomore in college, my friends and I went on spring break to Acapulco. We saw this band the first night, actually got a picture with them right away too. This was the the theme of the trip. In the video, we went to all those clubs. My friend Noel caught his harmonica one of the times we saw him. She still has it. I have seen him in the states–GB Leighton is from Minnesota. They put on a really good show. But for Noel, Shelly, Brenda and I , this song brings back so many good memories. Good thing what happens on spring break stays on spring break!

Manhunter

Manhunter by Janet Evanovich is an okay book. It is a typical romance novel. Girl trades condo in New Jersey for a cabin and hardware store in Alaska. She wants a husband. For some reason, she only finds one man for her. They fall in love, he’s afraid of commitment, she’s ready to start a family. He pushes her away, she stays persistant. Not to ruin it for you, but they end up together in the end. It is a cute story, but makes the main character look weak and not to bright. I hope if a woman moves to Alaska, she actually buys clothes that are fitting for the wilderness, not skirts and stiltettos, etc. This helps add to the stereotype that women are stupid. Grrr!
