Amy Winehouse

One of my new favorite songs is “Rehab” by Amy Winehouse. It is a good song that gets stuck in my head when I hear it one the radio. One of my problems with it though, it is doesn’t support drug rehab. But I guess it does it away. She knows she can’t go to rehab without first truely admitting she has a problem. I think that is why it didn’t work for Lindsay the first time. She stayed the 45 days and has signed up for more. I just wish stars would stop making it the in thing to do and just do it to make themselves better.

Wonderful You

Last night, instead of going out, I settled down to a book “Wonderful You” by Mariah Stewart. Right now, I am on a Mariah Stewart kick. I absolutely love her style of writing and that most of her books are tied together by family characters. This book seems to be one of her earlier books, because it is just a romance novel. It is not smut and its not mystery. It is an all around true love story. She takes a lot of time building the characters and giving them background stories. She makes you love Zoey and love Ben, the main characters in the book. They knew each other a long time ago, so it was no surprise that they fell in love so hard and so fast. But the book doesn’t always center around these two, you get to also know about Delia, Zoey’s mother. The one thing I didn’t like is I never caught what Maureen, Ben’s mother died of. This does not count as a spoiler, you find out his mom died when he was a kid right in the prologue. I know it probably wasn’t in the book because it really doesn’t matter, but still, I’m a curious person. I would recommend this book for someone who loves to read and wants a romance (as in love) story to read. I had a hard time putting it down last night and it was the first thing I did this morning. That’s when I know I have a good book, when I make sure to read and finish within a day. It was a little slow moving in the beginning, but once you get into the book, you fall in love right along with the characters.

Vacationing

Andy and I are thinking about going on vacation during the winter time this year, and were considering maybe going to Houston, Texas. We both have never been there which would be one of the major plusses. Andy had been to a lot of places. Houston is not a place of a lot of touristy attractions. I do know Andy would love to go to Houston to see the Astrodome. I know we would have to find a few Houston Hotels. This site offers a good description of Houston, the history and what you may find in Houston when you visit. I did find it interesting that Houston is just over half the size of the state of Rhode Island. It also has a list of sights and attractions. One thing I think I would like to try is The National Muesuem of Funeral History, as morbid as that sounds. It is something I know I would probably not be able to do anywhere else. Working for an insurance compnay, also makes the Musuem of Health and Medical Science interesting. I love learning about how things work, even when I am on vacation. Probably to top it all off, we would go to the Space Center Houston. I have already gone to Cape Canaveral, but i was like 8 and I wasn’t interested in that at the time. Now that I am older I think I would enjoy it a little more. We will see what the winter time brings us!

Willow

Val Kilmer used to be really hot. Like in the movie “Willow.” His character, Mad Martagan, is kind of like Captain Jack Sparrow in way. Its sad that Val Kilmer and Johnny Depp are about the same age and Johnny has aged so much better. The reason I thought of this, Andy was telling one of his friends to name their soon to be born daughter Aurele ( i think thats the name of the baby in the movie). My brain works weird.

FriendFinder

Nowadays, it is so hard to meet new people after you are out of school. When you are in high school or college, its easy to meet all different types of people. Once you are in the real world, its hard to find someone to spend time with. Either you are working or hanging out with friends. It is kind of hard to meet someone out at the bars and you may not want to dip into the company pool for friends.

One way easiest ways to meet people is through the computer using FriendFinder. It is very simple to use. Once you sign up, it is very simple to start the search for a friend, a relationship or even a marriage. My friend met her now husband online. I do not think they would have met otherwise in real life and they are soulmates. If you do not want to load a picture but will send one, there’s this awesome picture that comes up for the guys: A siloutte of the stomach of a guy. Its nice that they list the age and let you search for just friends. If you are new to a city and just want to be friends with someone but do not know how to meet anyone, its a nice meeting place.

Darn TV

So I have the television on while I am sitting here blogging, reading my emails, etc. Sunset Tan happened to be on, even though I think its a stupid show. But Kato Kaelin walked into the store, I did not know he was from Wisconsin. All the strange people are from Wisconsin, Ed Gein, Jeffrey Dahmer, etc.

In Bed

We ordered Chinese tonight, seasame chicken, thai noodles, rice and pork egg rolls. This is usually 3 meals for two of us Here are our fortunes:

Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence.

Laughter shall fuel your spirit’s engine.

Let the world be filled with tranquillity and goodwill.

CSI:Miami

Andy likes to act like Horatio (David Caruso) in CSI Miami. He does the whole sunglasses and side talking. I love watching the show because it makes me like science again. When I was in school, I understood the basics. The parts of cell, DNA, and the basics of the laws of physics. This show reminds me of all the science stuff I used to know and makes me almost want to go back to school. I like to know how things work and science helps figure that out.

Stuck in my head

“Beautifil Girls” by Sean Kingston–This is the number one requested song on the radio right now. It has been stuck in my head all day. I think its a cross between reggae and like a 50’s song. Andy’s favorite line is “I don’t think he’s clever” when Sean’s talking about the guys his girl has been seeing. I can’t imagine if one of my ex’s told me they didn’t think Andy wasn’t clever. I have to admit that would be funny. That is not what most ex’s would say about a current boyfriend! I think a few other choice words would be their first choice. Such as a jerk, douche, etc. Oh well. Hope the song does not get stuck in your head!

Police are Back!

amazon_300×250.jpg

Please click on this to go and view an awesome banner where you can watch The Police’s videos, listen to tracks from The Police’s new 2 cd hits collection, enter to win a trip to NYC to see The Police in concert and even  view details about their current world tour.

The Police have gotten back together if you haven’t heard! Check this out because Sting and the boys are touring again and singing all their greatest hits. I do not know if I was listening to music when the Police were actually touring the first time. I think I was more interested in oldies back then. At this site, there are so many different options of what you look at on this site. To begin with you can listen to the jukebox, instead of your husband singing it (like I have to). It’s nice to listen to music before actually buying the CDs. Also Videos can also be viewed. Tours dates and places can also be reviewed. Also you can enter the contest to win the Grand Prize of seeing The Police in New York. I can also send this to my friend. Not only that, I can also get ringtones onto my phone of The Police songs. I know for Andy’s ring I would have to choose “Wrapped around your finger”.

They released a new compliation Police Cd of 28 of their greatest hits. Going through the list of songs, I realize I know a lot more than I thought I did. The groovy thing is that when you buy the cd, you also get a vintage poster. That would look wicked in the bar area we are considering putting in the basement. I encourage you to buy this CD, I know I would love it, and I guartnee you would love it too.
