Top Ten

At my job, when we have Team meetings, we have icebreakers. When the supervisor cannot think of anything creative, they revert to the book Top Ten. It is a great game to play. What you do is take a category and split the team up into how many groups you want to have. Then you give them a certain alotted amount of time. Then you write down what you think the answers are. One of our categories was Top Ten Primetime TV shows of 2004. I guessed that one of Without a Trace. I actually didn’t think it was that popular. It was on the list. I like the game. It keeps my mind sharp.

Moving along

When my best friend moved back from California, she did not know how to get all her stuff from California back to Wisconsin. I suggested she look into one of the many long distance moving companies. She doesn’t have a ton of stuff, but what she does have, she wanted to make sure that it would be safe with reputable mover. I also told her to make sure that the movers would have be insured in case anything happened to invaluable items on the trip back. I know my in-laws had some problems with their movers with some irreplacable things missing. Service Network can help you find a reputable moving company that you can trust.

Its coming Back

I’m excited. I think like next week Monk is back on USA network for the fourth (?) season. I am excited. I love Monk, “Its a gift and a curse.” He doesn’t say that as much anymore. I think I like it because I think we all have a little Monk in us all. What I mean, I think we are all a bit anal about certain things. Like when I go the ladies room (like the segue?), I always have to use the left side stalls. If I use the right sides, it just feels so wrong. I love to have boxes either empty or full, nothing in between.

Washing the Clothes

When Andy and I moved in together, we bought a washer and dryer at a rummage sale that was 13 years old. We paid only $50.00 for it. We have gotten over 50 washes and drys on both so I now feel like I have gotten my monies worth. I know the time is coming when we need to buy some new ones. I know we are going to be looking at many Kenmore Dryers. With the weather being so warm, I would rather start the search online, than going out to the store. Its nice to have a search engine that finds exactly what I’m looking for so I don’t have to spend the whole day inside comparing washers and dryers.

Running on Air

I got up at about 4:30 this morning and have been up ever since. I think when I finally take the time to sit down and relax, I am going to fall right asleep. I had like 2 bottles of Diet Mountain Dew and a can of Diet coke. We worked 12 hours today. I can’t believe in 2 days we have already put in 22 hours. Only 28 more to go this week. I guess we should do as much as we can before we have kids. I know how sleep deprived my sister is now with 2 kids. I hope to get some relaxing in before we have kids though!

Upholstery

Right now in the living room, we have Andy’s old couch which we now either have to get rid of or we have get somefancy designer upholstery fabric because I just can not stand anymore. It has some stain marks from where the cat has thrown up and some discoloration in the fabric. Right now we have a palm tree throw thrown over it, but I would eventually like something more adult, more classy to make our living room look more adult. I think some custom curtains would also help our house look more like a home. It may also help me feel like our house is more complete once we finish these few updates.

Amusement Parks

I have always loved Six Flags Great America. By the time I was 18, I had been there about 18 times. Now with all the amusement park mishaps, injuries and deaths, I am kind of afraid to go back again. I always worry about something going wrong with the ride, but I never would actually expect something to go wrong. I am really surprised these accidents are not affecting the parks. I guess its to each their own.

Next Big Purchase

In the living room, Andy and I have a couch that he bought off a friend for $75.00 and some chairs that don’t match from my parents. We know our next big purchase will be home furniture that actually matches. I think that will make me feel grown up. Even though I own a house, I still kind of feel like it is apartment with missmatched furniture. I’m thinking of a couch and a love seat that pulls out into a couch. The spare bedroom is eventually going to turn into a nursery and when people come to visit, I’d like to have some place for vistors to sleep.

Boca

I never thought I would like like garden burgers. I love Boca though. I especially love the Chicken burgers. They taste like chicken even though it isn’t chicken. I have even started to eat wheat bread. My best friend gets kind of upset that I like all this stuff now because when we lived together, I would never try anything. She never pushed me. But I guess part of the reason I started to try stuff is to impress Andy. I guess I didn’t feel the need to impress Brenda! Andy now just wants me to try tofu. I do not know if I am ready for that!

Stickers

I used to love stickers when I was growing up. My sister and I used to have albums upon albums of stickers. It was the girl version of collecting baseball cards. A lot of the stickers seemed to date the time we were living in, such as Michael Jackson when he still had his original nose or Rainbow Brite stickers. What I would like to have is some of my own personalized labels and stickers. That way I could personalize my letters and cards. It would be a lot easier than actually writing labels or signatures. I would probably also make some personalized stickers for my niece, so she could label stuff. Now that she has a younger brother, she would probably like to label stuff as hers!
