Hawaii Homes

Andy and I want to do a lot of traveling before we start having children. If we do, one thing we might consider is looking into big island hawaii luxury homes. I think in Hawaii it would be a good idea to rent a villa or condo instead of a hotel. It just seems to be the type of trip that you wouldn’t want to stay in a typical hotel. Some vacation homes can hold up to 8 people, so we would be able to have friends come with. Vacation homes are nice because they have all the amenties that a hotel does, such as: a pool, washer/dryer, kitchen, beautiful view, etc. A private beach would be awesome too.

bcardbackground.jpg Just look at this picture of our favorite tree, I know Andy and I will have to look into some Hawaiian Beach Rentals now. Any place Andy can look normal wearing Hawaiian shirts would be a place he would love to be.

Staying In

Last night, Andy and I decided to stay in. We did stop at the store and bought some mixers just to have a drink at home while we sat down to “Anchorman:The Legend of Ron Burgundy.” We are only halfway through it right now, but so far, I can not believe I am saying this, but I kind of like the movie. I usually think these movies are a little too dumb for me, but am actually liking it. Maybe it was the drinks Andy made (we have recipes on playing cards):

Blue Lagoon
1 oz Rum
Lime Juice
2 Floats Blue Curaco

Build in a Collins Glass, Add Floats of Blue Curaco.

(Andy thought it was a little too strong)

Singapore Sling
1 oz Gin
Lime Juice
Orange Juice
Soda water
2 floats cherry brandy

Shake first 3 ingredients on ice and pour into a zombie glass. Top with soda and add floats of Cherry Brandy. (this is one of my favorite drinks)

Burnout

I think today it finally happened. I burned out this week. I had a really hard time getting through today. I had a really long day today. I think I got to my breaking point this week. At about 9, Andy said I started this really far away look. Andy and I have been working on average 3-5 hours of overtime every week for about a 2 years. I really need this weekend. I really need to relax. The worst thing is we are working 10 hours of overtime this week and another 5 the week after.

Teriyaki Chicken and Rice Cassrole

On Tuesday, Andy made this dish and it was great. It actually gave us 3 meals. 1 dinner and two lunches for work. He tweaked the recipe a little bit on purpose and not on purpose. Here is the recipe:

4 boneless, skinless chicken breast halves cubed
1/2 cup teriyaki marinade divided
1 TBSP vegetable oil
2 cups cooked rice
1 cup thinly sliced celery (we used bok choy instead)
1 cup thinly sliced carrots (we used whole can of baby carrots and bean sprouts)
1 cup frozen broccoli florets (we used bamboo shoots)
1 8oz can of water chesnuts drained
1 cup chicken stock (we forgot, but Andy added soy sauce)
1/4 cup chopped green onions

Combine chicken and 1/3 cup teriyaki marinade in a large bowl; mix well. Refrigerate at least 30 minutes. (we actually bought the chicken teriyaki at the store so we didnt have to mix)

Drain chicken, discarding used marinade. Heat oil in medium nonstick skillet over medium heat; add chicken. Cook until chicken is no longer pink, about 5 minutes.

Preheat oven to 350 F. Coat baking dish lightly with cooking spray. Combine chicken, cooked rice, celery, carrots, broccoli, water chestnuts, chicken stock and remaining teriyaki marinade in a large bowl. Mix well. Spoon into the prepared baking dish.

Bake, covered, until heated through, 25 minutes. remove from oven. Sprinkle with green onions before serving.

Andy said it was easier to do this than stirfry. He gets so hot (as is temp wise) when he does stirfry from scratch. At least this way he can actually do other things while making dinner. Like washing the dishes he has just used!

Online Games

I like to play online games. Most of the time I play word games. I would like to try some strategy games. One game I have never had a chance to play yet is backgammon. I know I would like to learn the game before I would actually put real money on the game. This site offers no house commission for now celebrating the real money launch, meaning now you can make real money on this site. It would be cool to learn to play for free and then play on 3 tables at once! The 3-d graphics are awesome and sounds are very realistic. I would rather learn and play backgammon online than in a casino. Online is so much easier to handle because I do not feel so much like I am being taken advantage of. I also like the fact I can dress the way I want and the other players do not even have to know who I am, they will not have to see my poker face (which really sucks.) The setup looks pretty simple. Just a download with easy online instructions. I like the fact that the site does not pressure you to play for real money. Its kinda of an afterthought sort of link that says well if you want to play some backgammon for money go right ahead, but we will not pressure you.

Happy Husband

I like to make my husband happy by doing whatever I can. I like to dress for him. I do not mean the way you may think I mean. I wore Andy’s favorite color today: Hawaiian. He swears its a color, not pattern. I let him think that. I have two Hawaiian shirts. You should see him smile when I wear them. Andy would wear Hawaiian shirts if he could every day. Someday I hope to buy him a Hilo Hatties shirt.

Fashion

I like to buy clothes for Andy, but it is hard to find cool and exciting mens fashions around Green Bay. He has been into this skull fashion thing lately. He either wants me in it or his phone! I really should get him something like this shirt:

I like sites like Electric Lady Land because I around here I do not have access to 7 for all Mankind . It is nice to be able to find the different T-shirts, bags, etc. that people around here do not have already have.

24

I love DVR. I don’t know if I have ever posted about our DVR. Andy and I kept 24 until after the season was done so that we could watch it continously. I always have the problem with the show because the show stresses me out. I hate how people lie, scheme, etc. I hate how Jack never gets to be happy. Right now the President just told the Vice President to stand down and not launch a nuclear attack on the Middle East and Vice President is trying to say the President is out of his mind from the coma. I am just wondering if they are going to kill off half of CTU again. We’ll finish it in a couple of days I think. We try to watch a couple episodes each time we sit down to watch some.

Toolboxes

Andy has so many tools. My family never knows what to get Andy for his birthday, so they get him tools. We are now getting to the point that he has no place to store his tools. We have considered getting a stainless steel tool box. I like the 26 competition Top tool box even though it does not have wheels. I think it looks pretty slick and would take care of the clutter in the garage. It would be able to hold all the drill bits and screwdrivers that we have no place to put all the stuff. It is good to know that each drawer holds 100 pounds. It would probably help us not lose the laser pointer!

Scott Baio

When I was growing up, I loved Charles in Charge. I like it better with the second family, the Powells, than with the first family the Penbrooks. At least I don’t remember him from Happy Days. Now that would make old! He he. Okay sad thing is I knew that by heart! Of course I used to watch it all the time. He is coming back to television now. This time to VH1. Did you know he dated a lot of hotties when he was younger? He dated Heather Locklear, Denise Richards, etc. He is going to be having a life coach that is going to help him with his problems each week. I think I will give it shot and see what I think.
