Leave me Alone

Today’s chore–raking leaves.  The leaves covering the yard were starting to annoy me, so we decided to rake.  Plus, the backyard needed mowing so it needed to be done.  It took us about 2 hours and we ended up with a huge pile of leaves. I just hope the leavemen (what are they called) come soon.  I wish we would have started earlier today because we only have time to eat dinner and go to bed because I am working 8 hours of overtime this week.  I refuse to work on Saturdays, so we have to get it done during the week.  Plus we have to be home by 4 on Wednesday for trick or treating.  So this week is going to be hectic.

Saturday Nights

Andy and I are addicted.  Not to alcohol, but to TLC.  Andy has said if we lived anywhere else than Wisconsin, we would be looking for condos for sale to see if maybe we could get on Property Ladder.  I hate watching the show sometimes because of the stupidity of the flippers.  They never seem to listen to Kirsten, a veteran flipper.  She’s been doing this for 10 years. I would listen to everything she’d suggest.  But we do not live in a booming market.  I would really like to see the payday with flipping though.  I could handle the stress for a couple of months for a $50,000 or more payday.

Yellow Tail Chardonnay

It really sucks when you go to the liquor store for white wine, and they do not have your favorite in the fridge and you want the wine with dinner.  For some reason, the wine I love is missing from the fridge.  So I bought a new kind of wine–Yellow Tail Chardonnay.  This was only about $6.99.  And it tastes $6.99.  It was a little to sweet, so it makes me think I’m not a fan of South Australian wine.  It is supposed to go with chicken.  I may try another flavor of Yellow Tail some time in the future.

Four Foods on Friday

I was tagged by Fun, Crafts and Recipes to do this meme and since I love food I decided to do it.  I just wished food loved me and would not add pounds!  Anyways, here goes:

1. Do you like hot dogs, if so how do you eat yours? If not, why don’t you eat them?  No I hate hot dogs!  My husband probably says its because I say hot dog like “hut dog”!
2. What’s your favorite type of store bought cookie? (meaning mass produced, like Oreos.)  Yes, I agree–Oreos.
3. Is there a food where you live that is hard to get anywhere else? Escargots
4. Do you drink milk? Whole, 2%, no fat or other? Or, why don’t you drink milk? Skim milk when I do.  I have started drinking chocolate milk again.  I’ve been hearing commercials on how its nutrition in disguise and it makes me crave it.

Gifts are Us

I want to find something unique for a couple people every year for Christmas.  I know one thing I could look into that no one else would get—a Photo Throw.  I think this would very interesting. I could actually do this for several gifts.  I could use different pictures for different people.  If we get a family picture taken soon, I would probably use that for my mother or my grandmother.

It is 100% custom made so I could even add text.  Not to mention, I could even get a shower curtain.   This I think is cool.  But I would probably only buy myself a shower curtain.  Otherwise that would be so weird.  I would consider using one of the pictures from St. Lucia for the shower curtain.

Tilted Kilt

Tonight we took my $25.00 gift certificate and went to a restaurant called the Tilted Kilt.  I am so glad I used it on this restaurant because we will probably never go back again.  The uniforms, or shall I say lack there of, fit the name.  It plaid colored bra/shirt with white shirt over the bra and then a short plaid skirt.   The guys have black shirts and black kilts with little skin showing.  I have no problem with the uniforms, except when the girls were wearing a size too small.  It doesn’t make them look better to be all stuffed in, it makes them look worse.  The food was sub-par, something you can get at any bar restaurant.  I had chicken tenders, which you only get 3 small ones with fries for $8.99.  Andy order fish and chips for $10.99.  I would have rather spent my money at a restaurant that I enjoy.

A Shopping We will go

Today, for me, is the official start date of Christmas shopping.  I have bought a thing here and thing there, but nothing like I am today.  We received the gift card for Target for my exchange gifts at my Grandma’s house, so to Target.  We also have to think of something to get Andy’s friend Chris.  I never know what to get him and now that he’s engaged, I think we have to stay away from the funny shirts.  I did see some hunting binoculars that I think would help with his hunting.  I think this would be a great gift for him.  Plus OpticsPlanet.com can be the place I go to for all his gifts then.  The site offers night vision, spotting scoops, and more.  I wouldn’t have to go anywhere else to find his gift.  I could do it while watching television.

Note to Self

Why is it when you want the mail to come, it’s late?  And when you want the mail to run late, it’s early?  Do you ever think it’s some cosmic plan of screwing you?

Jason X

I will admit it.  I am a Friday the 13th fan.  I know these movies are cheesy and if you have seen one, you have seen them all.  But come on, Jason in outer space in year 2455.  That is just going a little overboard.  Plus, this time it was all about the killing and not about the chase.  I think the new director did not really understand the Jason movies.  I would really recommend not seeing this movie unless you are bored to death.

Tangled up in You

This is a normal romance novel.  The title pretty much sums up this book by Rachel Gibson.  I liked the book as an airplane read.  It had no real stress or that hard of a storyline to follow.  Its about a girl who left a town when she was 4 because her mother was the other woman in a relationship and it had tragic consequences.  She is a writer and is writing a book on her mothers life.  She meets the son of her mother’s lover, wanting to hate him.  He actually has the opposite effect on her and the story unfolds.  If you don’t expect too much out of this book, then you will have an enjoyable read.
