Another Shrimp?

People keep on asking me where we are going to go on our next vacation and I originally was saying Guatemala because some friends of mine were going to renew their vows there.  They have decided not to now, so I was thinking of looking into Hotels in Brisbane, Australia.  I have had a couple friends and relatives visit there and they speak very highly of Australia.

I would like to visit someplace where its warm, has beaches, shopping, etc., all stuff I love to do.  Don’t get me wrong, I did like Europe, but it was different type of vacation than I am normally used to.  I think the Brisbane Accomodations would be much different than Europe too.  The small room left a lot to be desired.   I mean look at this hotel and pool.  I think I could live here for a week.

I think the other thing I would really enjoy is the people and the culture.  I would actually be able to have conversations with other other people and learn about Gold Coast Accomodations too.  I sometimes need a bit of excitement on my trips so I know I would need to find the amusement parks to go to.

True Love

On CSI NY last night, the opening was very cute.  There was a janitor in an abandoned warehouse cleaning.  He goes into one of the store rooms with all the mannequins and starts dancing the tango.  Of course, this being CSI he finds a body.  But the reason he was dancing almost brought tears to my eyes.  His wife had died 5 years earlier and every year since he danced the tango on their anniversary.  Now that is true love.

Real World: Sydney Part 2

Last night, I totally agreed with what Parissa did at work.  Dunbar was talking, well actually being a jerk, to Parissa at work and cussing.  He told her to shut the hell up and said F*** you a couple times at work.  She told him if he didn’t stop she would go to their boss.  Its one thing talking like that to her at home, but when they are work, he should be professional.  The boss made Dunbar apoligize, but he didn’t sound like he meant it.  Hopefully he realizes what he did wrong.

Robert Mondavi Private Collection

Tonight with our steak and potatoes, I told Andy I needed wine to go along with the meal.  I have been missing a glass of wine with the meal since Paris.  Robert Mondavi Private Collection Pinot Grigo is okay.  I wouldn’t spend more than $8.00 on it. Andy spent $9.50 so its probably really good that I didn’t buy it. Its not something I would ever tell someone to buy.   Its just a wine.

No pain No gain

Today I had a bad day at work.  It wasn’t because I was tired, it wasn’t because I had bad inquiries, it was because my tooth was aching.  The worst thing is that today was the day I had decided to give up soda too.  I would really have liked to have something to take care of my toothache caused by lack of filling.  It would have been helpful if I would have had Dentemp OS.  The reason my tooth hurt so bad is because I think a filling came out.  So every time I took a drink of water, it ached.  Every time I decided to suck on a sweettart because I am addicted, it hurt. It would have been much better if I didn’t have to worry about looking stupid.  It is nice that it will work within 60 minutes and you can eat within 30 minutes of applying.  I hate when something I take tells me I cannot do something because then I want to do it all the more.  The other good thing is that there is no mixing because otherwise, it would be odd to be mixing medication at work.  It’s always nice to have temporary dental repair.

No Such Thing

Did you know there is no such thing as just going to the grocery store for a few things?  Well, at least not in this family.  We went to pick up a few things: garlic powder (which once we starting putting the groceries away, found out we had an extra one already) milk and tortilla chips.  Somehow our bill came to $60.00.  Darn having to walk and see if anything is on sale.  But we did decide to be good kids and invite my parents over for dinner on Friday.  So that added maybe $10.00 onto the bill.  The rest was probably because I broke the cardinal rule of grocery shopping–I was hungry.

Oktoberfest

Word to the wise, if you are going to Oktoberfest, make sure to have a plan for if you get separated from your group. That was our problem. Andy and I went into one tent to use the restroom and somehow forgot that his brother was no longer with us and was waiting outside for us. We lost him for 3 hours. I do have to say, I wasn’t worried and it didn’t seem like 3 hours. I like German beer! But can you blame me for drinking a lot–look at the size of these beers: europe-138.jpg

This picture, by the way, is the only one we got of Andy’s brother.  He’s kind of picture shy.  This is the Hofbrauer House–as seen on “The Girls Next Door.”  I guess it is a famous restaurant otherwise, but the first time I saw it was on E!.   It is a very loud and interesting experience, with great food.  I love pig knuckle, by the way!

Cat and Mouse

I think with our cat, to him I’m his mouse.  This morning, he was being so annoying and I think I have an idea why.  This is, of course, thinking that he does have logical brain function.  He started being annoying when the alarm starting going off this morning at the normal early time we’ve been setting it lately.  He was walking back and forth by my head and nuzzling and meowing.  I think he was trying to tell me it was time to get up.  Normally this means he needs food.  Nope, food bowl was full.  It could also mean litter needs changing.  Nope, just changed on Monday.  Darn cat, trying to do good.  Maybe he was working for treats.  No, probably catnip.

So Tired

With blogging, trying to get 20,000 steps a day and working overtime, I think its starting to take its toll on me.  The worst thing is we just got back from a really relaxing vacation.  But I want to make sure to get all the money out of this walking that we can.  I am a little ashamed that I need this monetary encouragement, but whatever gets me healthy.  According to Andy, we have to improve our measurements for the next 3 months, walk over 12,000 a day with exercise, and do a fitness assessment.  He also says he may have to use some Miracle burn to lose the 15 pounds that will help him get $125.00.  The best thing is if we both get it, it is an double the money.

Rainbow Connection

I found out the other day that my supervisor did not know who Rainbow Brite was.   He is my age, but he doesn’t have any sisters.  But still, how do you not know who the Rainbow Brite is?  Andy said he probably wouldn’t know the difference between Rainbow Brite or Strawberry Shortcake.  I mean, come-on,  it would be so obvious the difference.  Then again Andy never watched Fraggle Rock nor The CareBears or My Little Ponies.  Just wait till we have children!
