Dart Champ

pc130482.JPGThe reason Andy and I love to go to our favorite bar, is so that we can play darts.  Even though I get angry with him for winning in only 7 rounds (that is so not getting our quarters worth for the game), I am proud of him for playing a good game.  I especially like it when he whips his friend in the game.  So I thought it would be very appropriate to give Andy a cool dog tags to show that he is the best.  When we played on Saturday, I made sure to lose (not to hard) so I could present it to him.  He was touched and immediatly put it on.  He can’t wait to show his friend and rub it in.  It is really nice to get the oppurtunty to give Andy something he can wear to show that I am proud of him.  Plus it was great to be able to choose what to say to personalize it and to be able to pick the color.

Wow

Not much in the news surprises me much, especially when I am reading about a Spears.  But I was actually quite shocked to find out that Jamie Lynn is pregnant.  She is 16!  I actually thought she would end up being the smart one in the family.  I wonder what Nickelodeon (did you know this was in spellcheck) is going to do with her now.

The Mitchell Report

I do not follow sports.  I do not care to.  But I have been hearing stuff lately about the Mitchell report.  Andy told me Bud Segal spent about 40 million on this report.  All I know about this report is that a lot of famous ball players are on there for taking stuff like like steroids, HGB, maybe even prohormones.  But really, what is the point in this?  Are these people going to be kicked out of baseball?  No.  Are they going to get fined? Maybe.  But what really is going to happen is that their reputations are down the drain.  Okay, that’s enough sports talk for me for the rest of the year!

Alarming

I need a new alarm clock.  I think one that does not have a snooze button.  Prior to my husband, I never used the snooze.  But now, I hit it at least 5 times before I get up.  This makes me more tired.  It also made me sleep through for almost 45 minutes on Friday.  Thankfully, the cat licking himself woke me up.  I do like I have the annoyingness of a cat to be my backup alarm clock!

Riding the Wave

When I go on vacation or to a beach, I find that I am not the normal relaxing type.  I hate laying on the beach.  I may be strange, but after about 20 minutes, I get really bored.  If I am going to be outside on a beach, I need to be doing something.  When we went on vacation to San Francisco, we decided to rent some bikes a couple times.  It is nice to be able to ride on the beach and not worry about having the bike stolen.   It is nice to be able to travel further distances when on the beach or on vacation.  I know if I lived by a beach, I would be more inclined to ride my bike there.

The beach cruisers bikes are very reasonably priced.  You do not have to worry about spending a ton of money on a bike and then it getting stolen which is why they are priced the way they are.  You can design the labels on your bike such as putting daisies on to make the bike seem more feminine for you or your wife.  I know my husband would love if I put Hawaiian flowers on my bike.  Of course, I would have to go with the blue color for me.  I love being able to be unique and make my husband smile.  And it is something I can do without having to spend a ton of money to have someone else detail my bike.  It is just peel and stick.  That shouldn’t be something I could to easily screw up.

If you wanted to, you can still buy one for a someone on your list for Christmas.  It takes less then 9 days to ship, depending on where you live. So you better hurry if you want to buy one!

Tis The Season

I lied yesterday by accident.  I said I was done Christmas shopping and my husband sighed with relief, or shall I say our bank account sighed with relief.  Until I realized I had one more gift to buy.  But it ended up working out for the best.  I went to Kohl’s (my favorite store) with my $10 off coupon.  I found a sweater for my aunt and went to check out.  The sweater was normally like $30.00 on sale for $20.00 so I was expecting to pay only $10.00.  It ended up being free.  The guy at the register said the computer is ringing up $0.00 so you get it for $0.00.  Isn’t that sweet?

Blonde Moment

So yesterday I was reading the comics in the newspaper.  I read “Blondie” and I didn’t get it.  I normally would have just been like okay, I don’t get it, I must be dumb.  But Andy read it and said he didn’t get it either.  Blondie and Dagwood were walking by a movie theater poster that said it was an adult film and steamy. Dagwood asked how adult and the ticket guy says something like “It’s so steamy we have to serve the popcorn in brown paper bags.”  I had to call my mom to explain it, and even when she did, I didn’t think it was that funny.  Maybe because I had to have it explained.  But at least my husband was as clueless as I.

Free Movie

For Xmas, I had to get my cousin a gift for $15.00 for our exchange up north.  Normally, I would spend only the $15.00.  But advertising got to me.  According to the paper, if you get a $25.00 gift certificate or more, then you get a free gift.  Well, to me “free” is a magic word.  So I decided since I actually like the cousin that I picked, I decided to spend $25.00.  The “free” gift is a buy one, get one free admission to a movie in January-March of 2008.  Also we get 2 free tickets to a Frosty Flick–kids movies.  They did give a list of kids movies and the dates–we are so going to “Alvin and the Chipmunks.”  Too bad I finished the shopping because I would so buy that for more people.  I spent $10.00 to save about $5.00 that I know we would spend at some point.  We don’t go to movies too much because its so expense, but there are just some movies that you need to see in the theater.

Impulsive Buyer

I was getting sick of buying Christmas gifts.  I am almost done, but the other day I decided to buy something for myself.  I bought a computer game “Boggle, UPWORDS, Hangman, and Word Hunter”.  This collection of games was probably not a good idea.  Why may you ask?  Because since I opened it up, I have been playing it any moment I can.  I could see myself playing it on a normal work night past midnight.  I get very addicted, I guess I have an addicted personality.

I’m Just A Girl

As a woman, I try to understand other women, but tonight, it wasn’t possible.  Andy and I went out with a couple who are getting married in June.   I understand the stress of a wedding, and I understand the stress of living with someone.  What I don’t understand is the freak out that happened tonight.  Andy made a comment about the guy not being able to drink Crown Royal because it would impede him in areas the fiancee would need him in.  Andy was making a joke.   I knew it, the guy knew it, Andy knew it.   The fiancee is cool girl, so I don’t understand why she got so angry with the comment.  As a woman, I can’t even fathom why she would get angry.  There are no rational lines to draw that she could end of angry.  It upsets me, because it ruined my night.  We ended up coming home early.  Plus, I have no idea what exactly the problem was so that makes me think, which is the one thing I do not want to do on the weekends.  Ah, alcohol.  The ups and downs it brings!
