Not a Bright Idea

I never believe the weathermen anymore.  They have been saying every other week (or so it seems) that there is going to be this huge snowstorm, and then it just misses us or fizzles out before it gets here.  So I didn’t believe when they said 12 inches today.  ( I feel like we have gotten half already.)

Andy and I drove to JCPenny’s today.  Yesterday, he did something stupid.  It wasn’t really his fault, but he tore his winter jacket he just got for Xmas on the snow-blower.  The jacket caught and it tore.   We decided to go shopping, since there is nothing really better to do.  We ended up with an awesome deal.  We walk in the door, and wham–ladies leather coat for $39.97.   Oddly enough, my faux leather coat just got tossed yesterday because the buttons were rubbing off the faux leather.  Then we went to men’s jackets and found a spring one and a winter one.  (He’s very particlar about being too hot–so we got both.)   The winter one was on sale for $30.00 and the spring for $40.00.  Plus we had a $10 off coupon, so three jackets at $105.00.   You cannot go wrong on that.

But as we were leaving, we noticed the sign on the door that the store was closing due to the weather at 2.  We started driving to my parents and realized the weather was getting worse.  But we still went there and sat for awhile.  We arrived back home and Andy let me off buy the door, but we have to walk up about 4 steps.  Just stepping out of the car, the snow was halfway to my knee.  I had to change pants once in the door.

Andy’s out snow-blowing right now and we will probably have to do it once more tonight, but I have a feeling he is telling me we are going to have to plan a trip next year this time to Jamaica or someplace.  Based on the weather, we may even consider buying the travel insurance.  I don’t know how much more snow I can take!
