Wedding Daze

Whenever my husband leaves for a couple hours, I always have this urge to watch a movie. So I pull up my Netflix account, and start the browse instantly feature. This weekend, I watched “Wedding Daze” with Jason Biggs (American Pie) and Isla Fischer. The story starts a year earlier where Anderson (Biggs) proposes to his then girlfriend Vanessa. She dies on the spot. Fast forward a year and Anderson still is in no mood to date. His friend Ted, encourages him to date while at a diner and on a whim Anderson asks the waitress, Katie (Isla) to marry him. She says yes on a whim and the story goes from there. There are a couple of side characters like Katie’s father whose in jail, Anderson’s parents–Edward Hermann (from Gilmore Girls). Let me just say, this movie makes me look at Richard Gilmore a whole different way.

I liked this movie because I like Jason Biggs. My husband would say its because he reminds of an old friend of mine, but I think its because he can make fun of himself. I like that this movie is a cute romantic comedy, nothing to out of the ordinary. I mean it stretches belief in some instances, but still the premise of the movie is still believable. True love can happen when you first look at someone, such as in the movie a look across a crowded diner. Andy knew I was the one for him the minute he saw me. (Or so he says.) I think I knew too, but wasn’t really letting myself understand what I was feeling.

I would watch this movie again, this time with my husband to see what he thinks of it. It was 1 hour and 31 minutes long and rated R. I would not recommend this for kids under 16.
