Misheard?

I spent last Saturday cleaning up my MP3 player.  I figure if I always fast forward to get to another song, its time to delete it from my player.  I decided to put “Voices Carry” by Til Tuesday.   For the longest time, I thought the words were “hush hush, keep it down now, this is scary.”   I never knew the name so now that I do “hush hush, keep it down now, voices carry” makes a lot more sense.  It’s funny what people confuse for what the actual words were.  My brother in law thought that Stabbing Westerward’s “How can I exist without you” was “How can I have sex without you.”  Have you confused the words of a song?

SnowDay

Today it snowed!  Its April, its only supposed to rain (which is on the forecast for the rest of the week).  I was hoping maybe to hang our wind chimes and bring out our patio set.   So instead of working on our outside, we did a bit of shopping.  I guess we weren’t the only ones with that idea. We ran into a bunch of our friends we haven’t seen in forever.  I forgot how much I love shopping.  So my checkbook doesn’t love snow days as much!

Four Foods On Friday 24

I am actually home and awake to do this.  If you want to join, please head over to Fun, Crafts and Recipes

#1. What’s your favorite food smell?  I love the smell of tuna.  I think part of the reason was my roommates in college hated the smell, and it was fun to annoy them.  Now, the cat comes running whenever I open tuna, so I feel popular.
#2. What’s your favorite kind of apple?  I don’t like apple, but I like apple juice (I’m strange)
#3. What veggies do you like in your salad?  None.  My salads consist of lettuce, cheese and croutons.  I am very picky, but I am trying to stretch my palate.
#4. Share a recipe that uses beef.   I’m not a huge beef fan, but my husband loves Beef Stroganoff.  But I am not allowed to give out the recipe–its a family recipe.  But it is good.  Its the first thing Andy ever made me.

The Doctor is Out

Stanley Kamel, Dr. Kroger from Monk, has died.  According to the article I read stated he was only 65 and died of a heart attack.  I am saddened by this.  That is so young to die.  He was a great actor.   I wonder what Monk is going to do.  Are they going to just recast the character or are they going to just write him out of the show?   I forgot that he played the father of Rebecca Gayheart’s character in Beverly Hills:90210.  I didn’t like his character on that show.  But yet again, I did not like Dylan with anyone other than Brenda.

Time To Walk

I am so excited, our next challenge starts in 2 weeks for our pedometers.  Walk for Babies is going to be during it, so I won’t have that much of a problem getting my steps that day.  I just wish walking would help me lose weight a lot better.  I haven’t gained much in the last 2 years, but I haven’t lost any either.  Life was so much better when I was younger and I could eat anything and not work out and still be so skinny.  Getting old sucks!

Empty Wallet

Yesterday after work, I decided to stop at the store for a couple of minutes.  Turned out to be an expensive couple of minutes.  I went to Steve and Barry’s.  I do not know if this is a national chain, but its nice. Everything there was $8.98.  I knew after I saw the sign for $8.98, my wallet was going to suffer. I found so many shirts for my husband, my brother in law, and even a few shirts for me.  I walked away 9 shirts!  Only one for me, though. My only complaint of the store is it is mostly men’s clothing.  But I’ve fine with paying that price for Andy for clothes.  Then I can actually spend the real money on my clothes!

Stick It

I like chic flicks. I will admit that. I can’t believe though, that I can get my husband to watch most of them with me! Recently, we watched Stick It with Jeff Bridges and Missy Peregrym (from Heroes Season 1) This is actually a good movie. It is along the lines of Center Stage sort of attitude. THe main character, Haley (Missy) is a rebel, she used to a be a gymnast, but walked away at nationals for some reason. Her father sends her to a gymnast school in order to see if it will curb her rebellion. For the first 45 minutes of the movie, I really didn’t like her character. But as they built onto her, you begin to like her. You even begin to like Joanne (Vanessa Lengies from American Dreams) who you hate at the beginning of the movie. Its really kind of a predictable movie, but not in the sense that you think. The characters do something with would be virtually unheard of in the real world of gymnastics. But after watching this movie, I am ready for the summer Olympics.

The movie is 103 minutes and rated PG-13.  I would say tween age and above would enjoy this movie.

Good Old Times

Yesterday I had a baby shower to go to for one of my high school friends.  We still are friends, but do not get to see so much of each other as we used to because we are both married and working and living our lives.  She invited a bunch of us over for a cook-out that night.

Its funny to see how much the conversations have changed between now and 10 years ago.  I remember we used to talk about boys and dances and homework—but now we talk about babies, marriage, buying houses, looking at Orovo, stuff like that.  Its weird to be growing up.  I sometimes wish I could go back to the time when the only thing I worried about was getting a zit before the school dance.

Dead Zone

With working so much overtime, I am so tired when I drive home.  I was hoping by 2008 they would have invented transporters (like on Star Trek).  That would be so awesome, but then car sales would go down and we just bought a new car…. but I digress.  I have started calling my mother, my sister, or my husband (who’s left work 2 hours before because he’s salary and doesn’t work overtime).  But I always lose the signal on the highway right by Lambeau Field.  Does that make any sense?  It getting really annoying, so we have even started looking at cell phone amplifiers.  I hate that at that point of the ride, we are really deep into conversation and I lose them. What if I was telling them something important?  I want to try to shy away from talking on the phone at that point, but if I do that, I am afraid I may not stay as awake and alert as I should be.

En-Titled

We bought our new car about 1 month ago.  We are up to 42 mpg now that it is getting warm out.  Yesterday, we got our title (finally) in the mail.  I opened it just to make sure it was ours, when I noticed a problem.  In the color spot, Green Light, was entered.  Does anyone know if that is going to be a problem?  Should we go to the dealer to see if this a problem?
