Learning from my Elders
I have noticed that the older I get, the more my upbringing has affected me. One thing I noticed while at my parents, is my mother only has 4 spices in her cupboard–all spice, fried chicken seasoning, pepper and cream of tartar. My husband has two rows of spices on a spice rack filled. My mother grew up having to eat a lot of food she didn’t like, so she never made my sister and I eat things she didn’t like. I do find now that I have missed out on chinese food, mexican food, sea food, etc. When Andy and I have kids, he can take the kids out for food I don’t like, like sushi! That is one thing I can’t eat. I just believe fish should be cooked!
