One of the things I have been most worried about for the baby is how the cat is going to react. He is already acting really strange and has actually seemed to ignore my husband at night. He usually sleeps on his head, but lately spends the nights either on the nightstand or in the living room on the couch. How do you really prepare a cat? It’s not like you can sit it down and explain what happening. We leave the baby room open when we are here for the cat to get used to it. He seems to be getting used to my niece and nephew when they visit, but I know it will be different with a baby here all the time. I have let the cat smell the baby toys and am planning on sending Andy home once I have the baby with something that smells like the baby. I just have a feeling Adi (the cat) will be insanely jealous when Andy is holding the baby.
