Yesterday was Gabe’s 2 week checkup, even though he was 18 days old. He is now 7 pounds and 14 ounces and 21 inches. Since last Monday, that means he gained 20 ounces and grew 2 inches. The doctor was happy with the growth and weight gain, but says he is still a bit jaundice, but thinks it is from my breastmilk. The weight gain makes me feel a lot better because I do not like knowing how much milk he is getting. He does have one issue–his belly button looks a bit infected now that the umblicial cord has fallen out. The doctor said we need to watch it and use some triple antibiotic ointment and if its still red and looking infected to call on Monday. So just going to keep an eye on it. But all in all, he had a really good checkup!
