Sick Days
I have evaded sickness for the last 2 weeks, but I have a feeling I cannot evade it too much longer. Last week, one of the local school districts cancelled school from Wednesday to this Monday for flu. On Tuesday of last week 40% of the high school was missing. So the district made the wise decision to cancel school to clean and let the kids get better. It probably didn’t help that the local school district just had their homecoming! And now, my husband has come down with what he thinks is the flu. At work, there is already a confirmed case of H1N1 on his floor. Lets just hope this is the normal flu and they got the vaccine wrong this time.

In Australia during our colder months june july, we had an outbreak of H1N1. At first they tried quarantine (which was voluntary) how ridiculous! then when it got out of control they changed status to sustain. My son was diagnosed and the whole family was instructed to seek a doctor and obtain Tamiflu. But we were then allowed to continue as normal which was ridiculous because tamiflu doesn’t prevent the spread of the H1N1, it is there to alleviate symptoms should you get the virus. All ok now!
