Growing up, the only time I’d seen the polygamy lifestyle was on TV such as a movie with Beau Bridges. Yes, even at a young age, I watched Lifetime (as Andy refers to it the man hating network.) The Lifetime movie I watched did not paint a good light on that lifestyle. But since I started watching Sister Wives on TLC, I actually don’t think it’s that bad of a thing. Its not my cup of tea at all, but if that is what they want to do with their lives, so be it. I could never share my husband, he’s mine and only mine. I barely have enough time for one husband and one kid. How do you find time for 16 kids and 3 other wives? I love watching this love story between the wives and Kody. Luckily, Netflix has Sister Wives, season one.

Maybe I’m a snob, maybe I’m loyal, but I do not like the new Girls Next door. I miss Kendra, Bridget and Holly. The new girls, Crystal and the twins (can’t even remember their names) are not as entertaining as the original. The twins do not have any personality–the only personality they seem to have is that they do not have a seperate one, so it really seems like there are only 2 girlfriends. Also, the relationship between Hef and the three seem forced. None of them seem to have the relationship that Hef did with Holly. They do not seem to have the ability to make stuff look fun and interesting. The orginal could make an entire episode out of picking the best eye cream and make it interesting. My husband says I just need to give these new girls a chance, but I think I am done watching the show. I gave it 3 episodes. I want my Girls back!

My husband told me he heard on the radio this morning that Estelle Getty died. I remember her best as Sophia from Golden Girls. I had heard that she was not doing to well these last few years having dementia. It makes me want to curl up on the couch and watch a marathon of Golden Girls. I technically could too because I bought my mother the first season! I am sure Lifetime is probably going to do something to. Sophia was one of my favorite characters, partly because I thought she looked like my Grandma–the one I referred to as the Grandma with wrinkles. The show was a good show. When I was younger, I really didn’t know that Blanche was “friendly” with the men, but I did understand Rose wasn’t the sharpest tool in the shed! This is one show I want on DVD and also Little House on the Prairie. That show caused me to ask my mom if when she was younger road in buggy or if she had slate and chalk for school and not paper. But my thoughts and prayers are with her family.

Stanley Kamel, Dr. Kroger from Monk, has died. According to the article I read stated he was only 65 and died of a heart attack. I am saddened by this. That is so young to die. He was a great actor. I wonder what Monk is going to do. Are they going to just recast the character or are they going to just write him out of the show? I forgot that he played the father of Rebecca Gayheart’s character in Beverly Hills:90210. I didn’t like his character on that show. But yet again, I did not like Dylan with anyone other than Brenda.

Did you hear about Kirsten Dunst. She’s now in rehab. Is everyone and their brother going to drug rehabilitation? Not only that, but there’s a rumor she’s fallen in love in rehab. I like Kirsten–how many other girls can tout their first kiss was Brad Pitt. You never know, Brad could leave Angelina (like Tom left Nicole) and could decide he wants Kirsten! Now I feel like watching “Interview with a Vampire.”

Did you hear the judge ruled that Britney Spear’s father will need to be paid $2500 a week and the ability to lease a car in exchange for him being the conservator. Now to me that makes some sense, but seems kind of odd. I guess with Britney it would probably be a full time job, but still. I don’t think I would look too kindly on paying my father to run my business even if I was in the same place as Britney. Its good to know that her parents are there for her, helping her out and making sure she doesn’t end up in drug rehabilitation again. But you know, if she never thought she had a problem, then she never really conquered anything while in treatment. I just hope the best for her.

Andy and I only subscribe to the weekend paper. I like the ads. That pretty much the only reason we subscibe, oh wait, I like the comics too. We got a paper today. Is it a holiday? I think not. We got a paper because Brett Favre retired. He’s just a football player! A great one, but it’s not like its the end of the world. I wonder if the press with travel trailers camped outside his house here and in Mississippi just waiting for more news. He’s retiring. There really is no more to the story. Move onto something more interesting–you know, like Britney dumped Adnan.

You know what really would suck about being a celebrity? I was reading an article the other day about what Tom Cruise had bought Katie Holmes (is it still Holmes?) for Christmas. Now that is kind of rude. Presents are supposed to be a surprise, she shouldn’t be able to pick up a magazine and read what her husband got her. Plus do people really care if he got her a Tiffany necklace or wholesale fashion jewelry? I would rather hear about the next movie they are going to be in. That just ruins part of Christmas.

I have to admit I watched a few episodes of this show about the bi-sexual Internet star–Tila Tequilla. Last night, she picked the person she was in love with–the guy. I would have chosen him too. I mean other than the fact that I am totally straight, but I think Dani, the fire-person, she was just way to cocky. I do believe she cared about Tila, but I think Bobby (the guy) was a better fit. Do I see the relationship actually working out? Well its an MTV relationship and we all know the outcomes of all the other couples. So I am going to go with a no!

Not much in the news surprises me much, especially when I am reading about a Spears. But I was actually quite shocked to find out that Jamie Lynn is pregnant. She is 16! I actually thought she would end up being the smart one in the family. I wonder what Nickelodeon (did you know this was in spellcheck) is going to do with her now.
