After this wedding we have in a couple weeks, we are thinking of starting some remodeling. I want to do more than just kitchen blinds, we are thinking of maybe putting in new flooring. I just personally do not want to put too much money into our house because we are thinking of moving in the next couple of years. The house is not set up for having multiple kids. I’m always thinking of ways a kid can sneak out–not that I ever had an oppurtunity to sneak out, my childhood home was not set up to do that. The windows were high, squeaked when opened and oh yeah, my mother was a light sleeper.

When we go to California, we are doing something neither of us have even done. We are renting a car! I am kind of excited because I like trying out new things and I want a new car. I am hoping we try a car we haven’t tried like a Corolla. I can not believe how much they want to charge you for a GPS system or even some kind of roadside assistance plan. I would rather use my own (okay my dad’s–Andy doesn’t think we need a GPS–he doesn’t think we need it in where we live–he doesn’t seem to realize I really don’t know how to get places–I am just lucky a lot of the time!) Let’s just hope we don’t damage the car!

Because I live in Brown County, I get to go into a raffle for a chance to get 4 Packer tickets in the 300 level of Lambeu Field every season for the low price of $67. You can either get stuck with a preseason game or a regular season game. But if you do get a preseason game, it is guartneed if your name is drawn the next year, then you will get a regular season game. For about 5 years, I have gotten all regular season games, until this year. This year, I got stuck with the Colts vs Packers. But my husband got the Vikings vs Packers. Which at the time seemed like it was going to make us mucho dollars. Well with Favre waivering back and forth and the Vikings losing their first two games, the value of our tickets were going down. We lost money on our preseason–Andy even ended up going–which most people do at least once with their tickets. I went 5 years, bored outta my mind! But they were offering $200 a ticket. Even though Andy wanted more, $250 a ticket, he did not feel like gambling with Favre getting hurt or sucking again this weekend or the chance Aaron Rodgers could get hurt. So we did come out ahead. At least the Packers are paying me back for all those days growing up and being stuck in my house because of the darn traffic!

In a couple of weeks or more, we are on our way to Fresno, CA for my best friends wedding. I am getting really excited, but also really nervous because we are bringing Gabe. It is going to be very interesting trip. I think my stress is starting to show, because I need to find the best acne product out there so I have perfect skin for the wedding. I am trying really hard to wash my face every night and not eat bad greasy food, but you know me, I can not turn down good food. I just made chocolate chip cookies and really that does not help my complexion. What was I thinking!

Lately, I have been having issues with not charging my MP3 before i go to work, so I am stuck listening to the radio. You know what companies have the best jingles–the ones for sales job. I myself am not looking for a job, but if I were, I know I could also work at J.J kELLER, (song is in my head right now). I actually have no idea what they do there except sales, but I do know they have a great jingle that will be stuck in my head all day! That would be a job I think i would want some day if I were creative. If you could walk around and hear people singing something you wrote–oh great now the “Give me back my filet of fish” is in my head. Or it could be my baby playing with the Frankie the Fish I bought for daddy for fathers day. So it may not really be in my head!

It is Saturday and such a crappy looking day here in Wisconsin. Oddly enough, though, you would think the rain and cold (Like 40 degrees) would make me just want to lounge around all day. But no. I have already done 1 load of laundry, put away 2 baskets of laundry and made breakfast. Baked French Toast for the family and chocolate milk–its one of my only specialities thats a meal. Otherwise I only make brownies, cupcakes (recent addition), spinach artichoke dip and chili con queso. My hubby thinks I should take a cooking class so I become more comfortable cooking. My biggest problem with cooking is I am a visual person, I need to see what I am supposed to being doing and what my recipe should look like when I am all done.

My hubby asked me this totally unreasonable question yesterday–Can we get rid of cable? I looked at him like he was nuts. I love tv, granted I may watch it a little too much, but really what else did we get Samsung HDTV for? We spent about $1000 on it, and just to use as decoration? I do not think so. He just feels like we are getting taken by Uverse right now. I told him to call Uverse and see what they will do for us. How can I not see whats going on with Robin and Patrick on General Hospital or really he wants to get rid of it right before new fall season starts? Not to mention–how does one live without DVR. I have had it so long, I do not know what I would do without it!

So, I have been a little absent lately. Partly it is because I had a broken laptop and couldnt bring myself to use a—gasp–desktop computer. I do not know if it was because it was just getting to the end of time–the battery kept on dying after only being unplugged for about 10 minutes. Then about a month ago, the screen stopped working. The computer itself works–we know by hooking it up to the TV. But we asked Office Depot–they said it would cost about a grand to fix. Umm, no. Id rather get a new one for half the price. I never thought of Office Depot for buying a computer–but it was pretty good deal. $429–I couldnt pass that up!

As far back as I can remember, I can not remember a more wet summer. It seems like every other day here in Wisconsin, we have a thunderstorm which causes a flash flood on our street. Luckily we are higher up then our neighbors, so we haven’t had much issue, but our neighbors backyard is more of lake than a backyard. Many people are now not venturing out when they know a thunderstorm is coming because they do not want to be stuck or flooded because they are not sure if their car insurance companies will cover water damage. Luckily the last time we got stuck in a flash flood, all we had to do was let the car dry out. But I will be home next time it storms, just to be safe!

I read Melissa Gilbert’s autobiography “My Prairie Life.” I realized that some people are not as they seem or portray in real life. I always thought she was such a good girl and I really was surprised to find out she ran with The Brat Pack. (Sadly I do not think kids today know who the Brat Pack are–Go Anthony Michael Hall–and off to another tangent. Is Psych going to have all the Breakfast club on? They have had Judd Nelson and Ally Sheedy.) She was even engaged to Rob Lowe! The book was a fast read because she had a very interesting life. It wasn’t like reading directory submissions. I kind of wish there was more about her Little House on the Prairie days, but I think that is more because that is what I know her from. That and Lifetime movies. Actually her life could be a Lifetime movie. You have to read the book to really get an understanding of all that she has been though. My favorite part of the book was actually just a little snippet about Johnny Depp. First of all, I am so jealous of her for sitting next to Johnny Depp. Secondly Johnny Depp was checking out her and touched her! I want Johnny to touch me! The other great thing about the book is the afterword of all the suggestions of what the book should be called. My favorite suggestion was Little Ho on the Prarie.
