Missing Box

Every year, the same thing happens about this time.  I start putting away my normal everyday decorations, such as my fake wedding flowers and start putting up the Xmas decorations.  But every year, I somehow misplace a box of stuff in our basement.  Last year, I couldn’t find the ornaments for the life of me.  I swear I looked in every bin that we have downstairs, but I couldn’t find anything.  Now this year, I’m missing my snowmen stuff.  I know they are all here somewhere, I am just not sure where.

Parenting

Andy and I have finally seriously started talking about when we are having kids.   Two years from now probably is the concensus right now.  The biggest thing that scares me about having kids isn’t the baby years, it would be the teenage years.  I remember my teen years and I do not really want to know what I put my parents through with just my mood swings.

I have this fear that I would have some Troubled Teens.   They say kids do not come with instruction manuals, but this site offers some advice on things like pregnancy to picking a college.  I know growing up, I was a relatively good teenager, but I know some of my friends parents had problems.

There are a lot of links to good articles that can help a parent better understand their teenager.  Like the website says, you can never have too much information.  Some are tips and advice from professional and some are tips from parents that have gone through the situations.  There is also a number to call for the site sponsor if a parent feels like they really do need some professional help with their teenage.  I hope when we finally have children this site it still active.

Interior Changes

This weekend our neighbor moved out of her house. She is moving to a condo because less maintenance. She offered us some driftwood, a gnome, and a stone squirrel. We took the gnome and the squirrel and put it in our backyard. Later that day, she brought her couch to the road to throw out and told us if we wanted it to take it. The couch was too big for her condo. So we took it and put it in the back room. For a free couch, I think it turned out great. Before we just had a love seat, but this works out so much better. 3 people can sit on it at once.

Spoiled Rotten

I tend to spoil things in my life.  My niece, my cat.  I’ve started to spoil my soon to be nephew (niece) also.  I just hope that I am not that bad when I have a kid myself.  Though if I spoil the kitty, why wouldn’t I spoil the kid?  Andy and I let Adi out onto the deck yesterday since it was such a nice day and we were sitting on the deck for awhile.   I would think that would make him happy enough.  No, he kept trying to get down the steps to the yard.  I didn’t want him in the yard for fear of him eating the grass and then throwing up once he got inside.  He wouldn’t stop trying either.  I threw him back into the house.  Then couple hours later we were sitting out there again and I let him out, thinking maybe he had learned his lesson.  Nope, tried to get down the steps.  You think I would have learned my lesson by now and not let him out.  But he meows like crazy to be let out and I don’t think he’s ever slept as soundly as he did last night, on top of Andy’s head.

Mission Semi-Accomplished

backyards-003.jpg

Oh my Gosh! We actually did what we set out to do today. We were able to get a nice start on the backyard today. I took out a bush in the backyard, read, relaxed and did Walk America. This has been the most active and well planned out Saturday I’ve ever had. Don’t know if we will still do the movie tonight. We haven’t even had dinner yet and hubby’s not back from returning the trailer we borrowed. If anything, we can see it tomorrow night.

Adi’s B-day

Today is Adi’s 7th B-day. Doesn’t he look so happy? I’m sure he doesn’t like me announcing his age either. But oh well, hes a cat, what can he really do to me? Maybe thats why he has been so vocal today. We havent given him his gift. Wet food and also some balls with feathers on. For some reason, these are his favorite balls (I guess he doesn’t have any other balls to like, he’s fixed). everything-and-more-337.jpg

Creepy Crawlers

I don’t know what it is but every morning when we get up, there are about 5-7 spiders by the front door. I hate spiders with a passion. Luckily Andy has been the nice husband and just kills them without me having to beg. Now even today at work, I had a small spider crawling on my desk. I did consider calling Andy over to kill it, but he probably would have made fun of me. So I did kill a spider on my own today. But now, I think we are going to have to buy some of those sonar spider things for upstairs.

Satin Sheets

That’s a name of a song too.  Don’t know it, but I do know its country.  Anyway, Andy and I went to the store on Friday and I found Satin sheets for 17.88.  I’ve always wanted to try Satin sheets.  And I really want to see if you’ll slide right across out the window if you get a nice running start.  I do want to see what will happen with the cat the sheets.  He’s the one that takes the running starts.

Toilet Duty

I think when I have kids when they are bad, their punishment will be to clean the toilet.  I hate it so much.  I don’t know if I just think it is that gross or what.  I wish it would clean itself. I would take any other room to clean other than the bathroom.

Weekends

I remember a time when all I did on weekends was lay around and watch T.V.  Why did I not enjoy it longer when I was a kid.  Like this weekend, I am spending it cleaning the house and packing for the trip.  Oh and have to get 2 20,000 step days either while cleaning and packing or in addition to.  I am not a natrually clean person, I like to leave things sit.  It’s weird how some days Andy and I will clean up immediately after dinner and then there are the weeks where we let it pile up until the weekend.  Wouldn’t happen if we didn’t have a dishwasher though.   Plus its hard when we work about 4-5 hours of overtime each each.   Now cleaning time.  Well maybe first I’ll eat.
