Overdose

I was just reading an article on AOL about Dennis Quaid’s new twins.  They were admitted to the Neonatal ICU because a nurse at Cedar Sinai accidentally gave them 10,000 units of Heparin (an anti-coagulant) instead of the normal 10 units because the medicine was in the wrong place.  The babies are stable right now, but man, how do you not look at the medicine you are giving someone.  According to the article, there are 13 other patients who have also been overdosed with the Heparin.  Lets just hope that everyone is okay.

Stolen Car

I read MSNBC for my news everyday, this story is amusing. I think I may find it more amusing than most because this is in my college alma mater, Stevens Point.  This guy’s car was stolen twice in one day.  It initally was stolen when the keys were left in it by his wife and someone stole it.  It was found about an hour later.  The keys were gone, so he went to go make another key.  The car was taken in the time it took him to get the spare key.  He eventually got the car back.  I don’t think I would leave keys in my car, especially if it was a nice car.

Reading Rainbow

Man, I really miss that show.  I loved it as a kid.  Of course I was always so confused on how Geordi (no clue how to spell that) from Star Trek: The Next Generation worked by day as a reader and by night couldn’t see except through the visor.

That is not what this blog is about.  I love to read.  I go through stages of who I read.  When I was younger, it was Carolyn Keene’s Nancy Drew series, then Ann B Murray’s The Babysitters Club series (sidenote:  Andy used to read these too.  His parents have a box of them at their house he thinks) then I took after my sister and got into Stephen King books.  The I got lazy and started reading Romance novels.  If reading relaxes you and you don’t want to think, pick up a romance novel.  It works.  Lately though, I have been reading Mariah Stewart.  She writes mystery books, kind of a series.  Her characters travel from one book to another, which I like.   I just read the last one of the Truth series.  Earlier this year I had a Mariah Stewart craving so I ordered all her books on Amazon.  Got like 7 or 8 books at about 3 bucks each.  Not bad. Plus I share them with my mom.    Now I moved on to Alision Brennan, which i havent gotten into yet, been trying to clean the house and stuff lately.
