Cover of Veggie Tales
Veggie Tales! Veggie Tales has become a big part of our household in the last couple of weeks. Even though we aren’t a very churchy family, the show has really grown on me. Not only does it have some of Gabirel’s favorite vegetables, it is quite amusing. My favorite parts are Silly Songs with Larry—I love “SUV.” There are some other songs, but lately Gabe has been obsessed with one and only one video—”The Snoodle’s Tale” so I know that song by heart. We have been trying to figure out if they are making fun of SUVs or if they really love SUVs.
I think the show will really help teach Gabe some lessons. He isn’t one to sit still, but he will if Veggie Tales is on. The only problem Andy sees with the show is not all the characters are really vegetables which Andy thinks will perpetuate that problem.

Is it wrong, I am kind of excited to watch this new show on TLC–Sister Wives? I love reality TV. I thought my hubby would think less of me for wanting to watch it, but he told me he wants to watch it too. He said he’s always wondered about that whole dynamic. It is a very interesting concept. I love my husband, I do not know if I could handle him loving 2 other women and having children with them also. It just doesn’t make sense in my head. But whatever, whatever trips your trigger, right? I know what I am doing next Sunday night!

Fine, fine, I admit it. I watched Dancing with the Stars a little bit last night and, I begrudingly admit it, it wasn’t that bad. I actually kind of enjoyed it. But i do have to say, the one and only reason I watched, was Jennifer Grey. I grew up with Dirty Dancing, Dirty Dancing was a sleepover, get back from the bars and pop it in type of movie. I will root for Jennifer Grey because of that movie. Also, man she can move. The “Situation”, Audrina Patridge, Bristol Palin, could care less about you, but Jennifer you will make me watch! It was heartbreaking when she broke down about Patrick, but you know it is all still fresh. She felt like she was reliving a time with Patrick and that would be hard. (She was doing a song that was in Dirty Dancing–I love that movie, I do not remember the song!)

I do not know what is with me, but I love One Tree Hill. But I have to say, I still am hooked on the show. Even though I think it should have ended a couple seasons ago when Peyton and Lucas left. I mean its not bad, but I hate how they are hardly ever mentioned. The jumping of the shark was when they brough Nick Lachey on—its not like he needed any name tags, they never referred to him as Nick, but Nick Lachey–as in “stay out of it, Nick Lachey.” It is nice how they gave Lucas and Peyton a happy ending, but they really are screwing with everyone else’s lives that are on the show!

Since I do not have much to do except feed, change and love my baby, I have taken to getting back to hooked on my soap operas. I had done so good breaking myself of the habit, but now I am so back into Stefano and Victor’s schemes. The one thing that annoys me is that I do not know who all these new characters are or who they are related to. By the time I go back to work, I should have an idea. One thing I noticed is that Brooke Shields is in a bunch of commericals lately. She is in like a firming eye cream or eye lashes commerical, a sunscreen commerical and I think a toothpaste commerical. Kind of makes a girl wonder if she needs the money. But maybe the ecomony is hitting her too. Must go now, we have Soapnet so I can watch soaps pretty much any time!

I saw a commercial for a new installment of I’m a Celebrity, Get me outta here. I am a reality show junkie, but this is one I will not be tuning into. For one thing–they wanted former Illinois governor, Rod Blagojevich, but since he’s in the process of being charged–so his wife is going instead. But he real reason I am avoiding the show is because Heidi and Spencer are going to be on the show. I do not want them to think they are actual celebrities.

You have to be living in Outer Banks rentals not to have heard about Jon and Kate Gosselin and their marriage woes. The rumors are he cheated on her and she cheated on him. Most of the rumors are supposedly confirmed by Kate’s sister-in-law. I have a huge problem with that. Regardless of how you feel about an in-law, you do not go on national television or blog about them for the whole world to see/hear. You cannot ever take it back if there is evidence.
I honestly love Jon and Kate Plus 8. The kids are cute and when Jon and Kate were not having problems, they were entertaining to watch. I try not to read or listen to too much of the rumors and I hope the family ignores most of it too. I really feel bad for Maddie and Cara because they are getting to the age where they know whats going on. They can read the tabloids if they wanted to and kids at school may know what’s going on also. I think people seem to forget these are real people with real feelings. They are not just a reality show. I just hope they work it out for the kids.

Today I heard the news that Bea Arthur has died. She was 86 years old. According to the article I read, she died at home of cancer. I grew up watching “Golden Girls”, but I know she had a great career prior to joining the show. I know she was in the show “Maude” which had her approach some very serious issues such as alcoholism and abortion. I know she was old, as was Estelle Getty, but it is still really sad to see these people I grew up watching and learning from die. My thoughts and prayers are with her family.

Watching American Idol, I noticed soemthing really strange. When the show started, they said brought to you by Pepsi. I found this really weird, because once they showed the judges, Simon, Paula, Randy and Kara right in front of them are the infamous Coke cups. ( I wonder if you can get the cups at a wholesale products store.) So how can two beverage companies both be sponsoring?

While visiting Andy’s parents for Thanksgiving, one of things we did was go see a musical. I am not much of a musical fan, but I had heard a lot of good things about Wicked. Wicked is based on a book (which I am told is much darker than the musical) about the behind-the-story life of the Wicked Witch from The Wizard of Oz. I ended up loving the musical which surprised me. Andy was kind of ho-hum about it, but he’s a guy. The story actually makes you feel bad for hating the Witch in The Wizard of Oz. I loved the play–hated the intermission because the theater we saw it in must have been built by a man. There were woman lined up for what seemed like forever. Normally, I would just hold it, but being pregnant–not so much. I luckily got in and out within a minute of them closing the doors. So note to all theater owners–either make intermission 20 minutes or make bigger womens bathrooms! One cool thing that we got from Andy’s mom was a onesie that says Green Babies Rule (because the witch is green). The muscial actually makes me want to read the book. I would say this musical is for anyone who likes a good story and can sit for 3 hours and doesn’t mind singing too much.
