Surpise Ending

How many people watched How I Met Your Mother last night? I was soooo excited for the new Robin Sparkles video, but I wasn’t expecting the ending to the show. Well, maybe I was. Barney and Robin hooking up is something I had heard may happen, but still was really odd to see. I did like the revertgo issue they brought up. When you hang out with someone you knew a long time ago, you revert back to that behavior. It is actually true to a point. At least with my friends and I, it is true. I look forward to seeing where they go from here with the show. I doubt they will seriously link Robin and Barney. As I sit here, all I can hear in my head is “Sandcastles in the Sand.”

Misheard?

I spent last Saturday cleaning up my MP3 player.  I figure if I always fast forward to get to another song, its time to delete it from my player.  I decided to put “Voices Carry” by Til Tuesday.   For the longest time, I thought the words were “hush hush, keep it down now, this is scary.”   I never knew the name so now that I do “hush hush, keep it down now, voices carry” makes a lot more sense.  It’s funny what people confuse for what the actual words were.  My brother in law thought that Stabbing Westerward’s “How can I exist without you” was “How can I have sex without you.”  Have you confused the words of a song?

The Doctor is Out

Stanley Kamel, Dr. Kroger from Monk, has died.  According to the article I read stated he was only 65 and died of a heart attack.  I am saddened by this.  That is so young to die.  He was a great actor.   I wonder what Monk is going to do.  Are they going to just recast the character or are they going to just write him out of the show?   I forgot that he played the father of Rebecca Gayheart’s character in Beverly Hills:90210.  I didn’t like his character on that show.  But yet again, I did not like Dylan with anyone other than Brenda.

Mistaken Identity

Tonight on Dateline, was a very sad story.  It was about 2 girls who were in a car accident and the wrong was declared dead for over 1 month.  They go through the weeks of each family and what they are feeling.  It almost makes me want to grab for wipes.  It really brings tears to my eyes when I think about burying a child and grieving and then finding out they are alive or the other family that thought their daughter was alive for over a month and sat bedside everyday every hour, never leaving her alone.  You want to be happy, but yet you are sad at the same time.

I also realize I am working too much when I think about how much of an insurance issue that will be trying to sort out who pays what.

Wait for It

Its so weird with watching TV right now.  Normally, the shows either are in reruns or not much is happening because its not May sweeps.  But this year is different with the writers strike.  I really do not know how I am going to be able to keep up with all the shows.  Right now we only have 45 hours left on our DVR.

Monday was the first of the new episodes for “How I Met Your Mother.”  I love this show.  Its witty and fun.  Its a nice show to come home and watch and laugh.  I love the fact that they keep showing glimpses of “your mother” but she’s always hidden by something.  I have a feeling we have seen “your mother” a couple of times already.

I look forward to next week with Britney.  We’ll see how that turns out.  Maybe it will be legend—wait for it—dary.  (I’m sorry I had to!)

Step Up

Trailers so work for me.  For the last few weeks, I have been seeing the trailer for the movie Step Up 2.  It got me thinking, maybe I should watch the first one.   So I ordered it on Netflix (love it).  I thought it was okay.  It was the typical love story dance movie. If you’ve seen Center Stage, Dirty Dancing, Save the Last Dance, and liked them, you will like this movie.   The good thing about this movie is that they concentrate on the guy’s life more than the girl’s life.  Its nothing to write home about.  If this movie is anything like the sequel, I probably wouldn’t recommend seeing it in the theater.

The basic story is poor white boy Tyler breaks into this dance school and gets caught.  His community service is to work as a janitor at the dance school.  One of the dancers, Nora, is needing a partner and Tyler can dance.  They dance, they fight, they fall in love….the typical movie.

Gosselins Go Skiing

Okay, my first complaint is TLC should not have changed the names listing for Jon and Kate Plus 8 on Monday. My DVR wasn’t going to tape it! But, I caught it so its okay. Can you imagine that many kids on an airplane? I wonder if the other passengers got Bose headphones, you know, the ones that reduce the outside noise? This show is one of my favorites to watch. After each time we watch, my husband turns to me and asks if I really do want kids. My answer is still the same, no matter how much crying or teasing or yelling, eventually I do want them. Just not 8 at one time! I look forward to Monday’s episode to see how well the kids ski!

The Moment of Truth

I hate to admit it, but I actually kind of like this new game show on Fox.  I thought it was going to be so stupid.  Well, it is stupid, but its addicting.  You want to see if the person answers the questions truthfully and how much they want to explain.  I can see marriages and relationships ruined over this show.

Here is the gist: Person is asked 50 questions prior to the night of the show.  On the night of the show, 21 are picked.  The person answers them truthfully (to win the money) in front of their friends, family, coworkers, studio audience and the world.  For example, one of the questions usually is “Have you ever stolen something from your job?”  This one of the more normal questions that almost anyone is going to say yes to.  Its not uncommon for someone to take a pen from work and count that as stealing.  Its not like they are stealing some new pocket watches.  The questions that are hard are the ones you have to interpret what they are really asking and how you really feel about it.

Its weird what people will do for money.  I do not think I would do it because they seem to exploit your weaknesses.  I do not have anything to hide, but I also do not want the whole world to know that.  The show does offer some good questions to ask of your family and friends.

Coincidence?

Have you heard the song “Crazy B****” by Buckcherry?  I personally love the song because its fun to listen to.  I saw Buckcherry in concert with Bush and Days of the New about 7 years ago.  The funny thing is this is before I knew my husband and he went to the same concert.  I wonder if we saw each other there!  Anyway, the funny thing is you what the next single that Buckcherry released was?  “Sorry.”  Coincidence?  I don’t know, but I find it amusing!

No Demon Barber for ME

And this is not by choice.  Marcus Theaters are not airing Sweeny Todd.  Why?  Why? Why?  How can they deprive me of my Johnny?  I need a viewing of Johnny ever couple of days to make the world right :)   All I know is that there was some discrepancies in money or something between the production company and the theater.  So basically all us Johnny Depp fans get screwed!
