Since I do not have much to do except feed, change and love my baby, I have taken to getting back to hooked on my soap operas. I had done so good breaking myself of the habit, but now I am so back into Stefano and Victor’s schemes. The one thing that annoys me is that I do not know who all these new characters are or who they are related to. By the time I go back to work, I should have an idea. One thing I noticed is that Brooke Shields is in a bunch of commericals lately. She is in like a firming eye cream or eye lashes commerical, a sunscreen commerical and I think a toothpaste commerical. Kind of makes a girl wonder if she needs the money. But maybe the ecomony is hitting her too. Must go now, we have Soapnet so I can watch soaps pretty much any time!

I saw a commercial for a new installment of I’m a Celebrity, Get me outta here. I am a reality show junkie, but this is one I will not be tuning into. For one thing–they wanted former Illinois governor, Rod Blagojevich, but since he’s in the process of being charged–so his wife is going instead. But he real reason I am avoiding the show is because Heidi and Spencer are going to be on the show. I do not want them to think they are actual celebrities.

You have to be living in Outer Banks rentals not to have heard about Jon and Kate Gosselin and their marriage woes. The rumors are he cheated on her and she cheated on him. Most of the rumors are supposedly confirmed by Kate’s sister-in-law. I have a huge problem with that. Regardless of how you feel about an in-law, you do not go on national television or blog about them for the whole world to see/hear. You cannot ever take it back if there is evidence.
I honestly love Jon and Kate Plus 8. The kids are cute and when Jon and Kate were not having problems, they were entertaining to watch. I try not to read or listen to too much of the rumors and I hope the family ignores most of it too. I really feel bad for Maddie and Cara because they are getting to the age where they know whats going on. They can read the tabloids if they wanted to and kids at school may know what’s going on also. I think people seem to forget these are real people with real feelings. They are not just a reality show. I just hope they work it out for the kids.

Today I heard the news that Bea Arthur has died. She was 86 years old. According to the article I read, she died at home of cancer. I grew up watching “Golden Girls”, but I know she had a great career prior to joining the show. I know she was in the show “Maude” which had her approach some very serious issues such as alcoholism and abortion. I know she was old, as was Estelle Getty, but it is still really sad to see these people I grew up watching and learning from die. My thoughts and prayers are with her family.

Watching American Idol, I noticed soemthing really strange. When the show started, they said brought to you by Pepsi. I found this really weird, because once they showed the judges, Simon, Paula, Randy and Kara right in front of them are the infamous Coke cups. ( I wonder if you can get the cups at a wholesale products store.) So how can two beverage companies both be sponsoring?

While visiting Andy’s parents for Thanksgiving, one of things we did was go see a musical. I am not much of a musical fan, but I had heard a lot of good things about Wicked. Wicked is based on a book (which I am told is much darker than the musical) about the behind-the-story life of the Wicked Witch from The Wizard of Oz. I ended up loving the musical which surprised me. Andy was kind of ho-hum about it, but he’s a guy. The story actually makes you feel bad for hating the Witch in The Wizard of Oz. I loved the play–hated the intermission because the theater we saw it in must have been built by a man. There were woman lined up for what seemed like forever. Normally, I would just hold it, but being pregnant–not so much. I luckily got in and out within a minute of them closing the doors. So note to all theater owners–either make intermission 20 minutes or make bigger womens bathrooms! One cool thing that we got from Andy’s mom was a onesie that says Green Babies Rule (because the witch is green). The muscial actually makes me want to read the book. I would say this musical is for anyone who likes a good story and can sit for 3 hours and doesn’t mind singing too much.

I settled into bed last night to watch Grey’s Anatomy (not knowing it was a repeat) and was in for a huge surpise. Dish Network is not carrying ABC right now because of some dispute about charges! It was a huge surprise to me and I would have been really angry if it would have been a new episode of Grey’s. But I did realize something–that is the only show we watch on that channel. So it wouldn’t be the end of the world if we didn’t have it for awhile–only when new episodes of Grey would be on!

I really used to like watching “The Girls Next Door” on E–you know, Hugh Hefner’s girlfriends. But ever since Holly and Kendra have come out and stated that they are no longer with Hef, I feel cheated. I feel like someone is lying to me. Stupid production schedule took too long and Holly and Kendra didn’t want to keep it a secret any longer. So now when I watch, I am looking for the signs. Sunday’s episode showed Holly showing Hef a picture of the twins (which he is now dating). That’s just wrong. But, yet I still keep watching. I guess I am a glutton for punishment!

I watch a lot of crap on television, but I would not chose to watch The Pick-Up Artist on VH1. Unfortunely, to annoy me, my husband decided to watch it today. My issue with this show is the teacher, Mystery. I wikipedia’d him and it turns out he was a magician/illusionist which doesn’t suprise me. I really hate Mystery’s view of woman. He doesn’t treat them as woman, he treats them as targets. He teaches tricks and lines and I think that’s underhanded. Andy thinks Mystery is only after digits and nothing more. He thinks he seems ambivilent to the opposite sex and doesn’t think he will have to be shopping for crib bedding anytime soon. I want to see him teach the men confidence, while not trying to undermine woman. It seems like he is trying to trick women, lie to women, or even just trying to score.

I love the DVR. I recorded the series premiere of the new show “Fringe” and finally watched it last week. I am upset with myself because I did not set it up to tape all new episodes. The show is about “fringe” science, telekensis, invisibility, dream-walking, etc. The only person I know in the show is Joshua Jackson–Pacey from Dawson’s creek, but the rest of the newcomer’s are actually really good actors. The first episode starts with a turbulant flight where a guy freaks out and starts running down the aisle. The stewardess runs after him and when the guy turns around, you see he needs more than a facial acne treatment, his face is literally melting off. Basically, it affects the whole plane and everyone dies. Its an intriguing show, so I hope it stays on for awhile.
