I really cannot wait until after the election. I was searching for something to watch tonight and did not have many choices. I turned on Hole in the Wall for 2 minutes and decided that its not that good of a show. In about 45 minutes though, all that is going to be on is the vice presidental debate. I am not going to watch, I already know who I am going to vote for. I do not have to listen to debates about the stock market, ecommerce merchant accounts, the war, etc. I would rather watch Grey’s Anatomy! I want to see why the hospital has a water issue.

I do have to admit, I like Paris Hilton’s “Stars are Blind” song, but only because when i first heard it, I didn’t know who was singing it. She just realeased a new single called My BFF to go along with her new MTV series “Paris Hilton’s My New BFF.” I think this show is going to bring out the crazies, you the ones who drive cross country in adult diapers to kidnap people or just those strange girls that you would not really think would be interested in Paris Hilton or a guy. I am pretty sure I am not going to waste my time with that show. I’m too busy watching 90210!

You gotta love DVR–being able to watch shows whenever we can. Tonight we watched last night’s episode of How I Met Your Mother. This episode was all about Marshall trying to find the perfect hamburger that he had when he had first moved to New York City. I do not know if I am just that suseptible to being influnenced by TV, but instead of digging out one of our casserole recipes for supper, I wanted a burger really bad with a pickle on the side. There have been better episodes of the show, but it’s nice to have a random show about nothing. Not too much thinking, and that is what I like.

With 90210 being remade and ER ending this year, comebacks are being discussed a lot for these shows. But for the stars that the show made them famous, most are not showing the love and returning even for just an episode. I have read stuff that Luke Perry and Jason Priestly have said, and basically, it seems like they are better than 90210. Hmmm, they both have gone so far since the show has ended. George Clooney has no plans returning to ER, which skyrocketed his movie career. Anthony Edwards–whose character died on the show–is slated to come back for the finale. To me, you need to pay respect to where you came from, and these stars are just being obnoxious. That is, if I believe what I read.

It’s a typical Sunday morning of me going through the ads while flipping through the channels for some backround music and I came across “The Goonies.” This is a classic movie that, yes, I do have DVD, but it’s such a great movie. This is one of the first movies I remember seeing in the theater–man that kind of dates me, doesn’t it? I know when we have kids, we are going to have them watch this movie. I just hope they understand the lack of unlocked cell phones to call for help with, the lack of computers, etc. One of my coworkers told me that she is starting on all the classics for her 8 year old daughter. She’s waiting a few years for Sixteen Candles, Pretty in Pink, the Breakfast Club, but those are on her lists. Those are on my list too, along with my husband’s favorite movie ever–The Princess Bride.

Have you heard New Kids on the Block’s new song–”Single”? The song is really, really strange to listen to because they are singing about wanting to be a girl’s boyfriend. Ten years ago, that would have been okay. I will be the first to admit, I used to love the New Kids, especially Jordan ( I have the action figure/doll. It was nice having a male in my sea of Barbies). But now, don’t they all have wives and kids? That just makes it strange. I really want to know what the younget generation really thinks of them, not being exposed to them the first time around.

Last Sunday was the MTV awards for Video Music Awards. My hubby caught me watching it before I went to bed ( I just wanted to see if Brittney won anything–3 awards which I think she did deserve–she’s come a long way). He was confused that it was the Video Music Awards because he wasn’t aware that MTV showed music videos anymore. Right now I am watching VH1 Top 20 countdown, so I am aware of that they still do show videos, just not at prime times that people would watch them.
Speaking of the VMA’s, the jokes about promise rings were funny. I think when Jordin Sparks spoke up about them, she needed to take a chill pill. When I was growing up, I wouldn’t look towards NKTOB, Britney, Madonna, etc for my choices. I do not understand why the celebrities sex lives are our business. Especially when they are kids, just like us. To me, it seems like a PR stunt to voice their intentions. But that’s just me.

Ever since we got the Wii, every few weekends, Andy and I have been renting some games from Family Video. We want to get a feel for some games before we buy them. One game we seriously are going to buy (hopefully tomorrow with my birthday money) is Wii Game Party. This CD contains a bunch of games like darts, shuffleboard, hoop shot, skill ball (skee ball), Ping Cup (Beer Pong), air hockey, and trivia. Andy and I spent about 4 hours playing it last night. The dart game is really like playing darts–I even shoot the same. If I aim at the 1, I still get a 20 or 18. Each time you earn a certain amount of tickets, you get to more characters, or more choices of boards or balls or darts. I love the Wii, I just need to figure out how to hook it up the wireless routerso I could get more Miis. The best thing about this game is the odd characters and costumes–Andy loves the pirate, I love the mummy girl. Best thing is the game is only $19.99 at Best Buy. Guess where we are going tomorrow morning!

I don’t know why, but I really like to watch the history channel. Somehow they can make the history of anything interesting. While I should have been getting ready for a wedding today, I got distracted by “All about Dung.” Yes, the history of crap. It actually was pretty interesting. There is a muesum of toilets! I guess the French had toilets designed as a pile of books. Books by English authors, no less, so that when a frenchman went to the bathroom, they were crapping on the English. It was a 2 hour show, and it kept me very intrigued. It kind of makes me want to see what else the History Channel has to show me.

I feel so wrong and so dirty after watching “The Moment of Truth”, but it’s like a bad car accident, I can’t turn away. When I first heard the premise for this show–a person takes a lie detector test and then goes in front of the world to answer the questions–I said no way would I watch that. But for some reason, I kind of like to see how far people will go for money. They will be truthful–but may end up hurting themselves or one of their loved ones along the way. The last one we saw, the woman walked away with $100,000 but not before telling her father he ruined her childhood, that’s he’s untrustworthy and she’d never marry a man like him. Also, she told her best friend, that truthfully he would never make it in the music business–which he said she has never said anything like that before. It is quite sad how many people will ruin lives for money. Trust me, you will not see me on that show.
