My best friend moved up her wedding from sometime in May to October 8. So we kind of had to scramble for a wedding shower and a bachelorette party. Well, I got her to come home for the shower so I added a bachelorette party on top of that. Then I realized I needed something naughty for her. So I figured I could order her something. I have used Fredricks in the past, and remembered something about being pretty quick. That is what I needed. I decided on Wednesday to order a gift and needed in 10 days, the site says 5-9 days for shipping. First of all, the only problem I had was picking out the size. The site itself is great with giving sizes and measurements, its the measurements I was given by the bride-to-be. She has some really messed up meausrements! I shouldn’t talk, my measurements are about the same just in a couple sizes bigger–darn a big booty! But with all the choices of lingrie, the hardest part was trying to figure out how naughty I wanted to be for her. I ordered last Wednesday and I got it today! I am so happy with the service, I know I will use it again. Although I think we have most of our friends married ofF! Maybe just for me next time!

A coworker just got a Nook from her husband for working so much overtime lately and quitting smoking. I am really really really jealous. What is a Nook? A Nook is a e-book. For a long time, I thought I would not be able to use one, but I watched someone read one at the airport a couple months back. It looks just like you are reading from a book. It would be helpful outside and the best thing is that its battery works for 10 days. And Barnes and Noble has a bunch of free books! I have started dropping hints to Andy to get me one. I am thinking he is not going to get the hints!

My Grandma made a comment the other day that she stops by and my husband and I are never home–she stops by during the day when we are work. The reason I find this so amusing is ever sine we have had Gabe, we have become homebodies. Granted, we try to get out at least once a month without him in order to keep our relationship going. But, most of the time, we stay home. I have found my boy does not like to shop. He falls asleep everytime we go shopping. I suppose if I pushed my husband in a cart, he would probably do the same exact thing. He is not to fond of shopping for deals either. That is why I am trying to shop on online more lately. Its so easy to bring up a couple websites than to drive around to 5 different stores with a baby. Especially with Gabe being so stuffed up and with all the sick people around. I’m not too worried about him getting H1N1, but more worried about not getting over this cold or sinuses or allergies. The best thing about shopping online is through our Virginhealthmiles account, we get a certain percentage back at certain stores–which is awesome. Hey, I will take $2.38 anyday back on something I was going to buy anyway.

I read an article the other day which stated that in the death of the Walmart employee that died on Black Friday after being trampled, implied it was Walmart’s fault. The police department in that area gave some recommendations for retail franchises for the next Black Friday. On the list were better security (lined up months ahead of time–and not police), handing out vouchers, detailed maps of the store and maybe only letting in a couple hundred at a time. Also, better training for the employees. It is really sad that someone died over Black Friday sales. Hopefully, it will not happen again next year.

This is the first year in four years that I did not get up early to go shopping. Part of the problem was that I didn’t see any ads that would get me out of bed that early. The second problem was I think my husbands animosity against crowds of people has rubbed off on me. I don’t really know what I need to buy and I am not going to stand in line for more than 10 minutes to buy one thing. At least around here, there was no injuries or deaths like the ones in Long Island at Walmart. That really worries me because one of my good friends works at Walmart. Who would have thought Walmart needs hazard pay? Maybe they need to look into safer occupations like online trading–no actual person to person contact, especially this time of year.
Hopefully, I finish shopping in time. I always do!

This weekend, I got an email from Linens N Things stating they were having a closing sale–get this everything in the store 10-30% off. Umm, what? You call that a closing sale? We spent about 20 minutes walking around the store. The kitchen supplies were only 10 percent off. The only sort of deal I saw was the curtains and curtain accessories were 30% off. But I also have to remember, curtains at this store are expensive. We did pick up a cutting board (10% off), but it was something we were planning on buying no matter what. Maybe I just need to wait and see if they have better sales, but I’m guessing no.

Is it wrong that I am already thinking of shopping on Black Friday? As of right now, I am way behind on my shopping. I only have one gift bought. I really need to start thinking of gifts. One thing I am debating on waiting until Black Friday for is our LCD screen and LCD mount. I know if we get up real early we will be able to get a good deal, but we are also going to be in St. Cloud visiting my inlaws. Plus we are using gift cards that we have to order a couple of weeks before and we won’t know the deals until probably the week of. Maybe I will spend part of the weekend shopping. I want to get at least one person out of the way!

Andy and I went shopping last week and I came home really happy. My couisin’s wedding is in about 3 weeks and I just realized, I do not have a dress to wear. So we went looking for a dress. Instead, my husband actually did a good job finding me two work outfits. One is a business suit normally $200.00 on sale for $70.00. Work is normally business casual, but I like outfits that are put together. Also, I like to make people I have interviews–make them nervous. But the best thing he found was a $70.00 outfit labeled at $30.00. It also had a note stating as is one piece. It was pants and a shirt, and I hate buying as is. Especially when i do not know what is wrong with the outfit. Since I couldn’t figure it out, I bought the outfit. To my surprise, it was $12.99. On the drive home, I finally figured out why it was as is. The pants were a different size than the shirt. Now I just have to be careful not to lose too much weight once I start working out. It’s not like I’m going to be taking Leptovox. I just do not waste $100.00 on clothes I do not get to wear. So lesson learned–shop at JCPenny’s with my husband more often!

A couple weeks ago, I blogged about the trouble we had at work ordering the 3 or more deal at Pizza Hut. For my team lead’s birthday, we decided to order pizza again from Pizza Hut, just to see if it was a one time thing. This time again when we called we ordered 8 pizza’s. They ended up charging us $5 per pizza for the first 7 and then $6.99 on the 8th. We said whatever, we just wanted the pizza. So when they came to deliver it, they only delivered 8 pizzas. So we called them back and spoke with a manager. The manager said the deal is $5 per pizza if you order 3 or more to a total of $7.00. It does not show a limit anywhere. Dominoes doesn’t have a limit on their $5 deal. They did give us a $10 credit, but we really do not want to order from there again.

My husband loves the game of Life. I like the original board game too. We can’t really play mine anymore because the thingy between 9 and 10 is gone. So a couple of years ago, I let my husband buy the game of Life for the computer. I don’t like it because its missing my favorite part–the spinning of the wheel.
My sister bought this new game (per suggestion from me) for Andy for Xmas. Last night, we pulled it out to actually play. First, if you buy this game, you need 2 double A batteries. The spinner is electronic, which is kind of weird. (I won the two games) It was really hard to understand the steps because its pretty much all tracked on the spinner thing. Each player has a card–its like a credit card–that keeps track of your earnings and debt.
The one thing I do not like, is to win the game the directions say the spinner calculates a “random calculation” to determine your lifepoints. Ummm, what? So its entirely random who wins no matter what you do? Oh and you can only have 9 kids in this game. I remember in the old game commandeering another car to put the extra kids in. Plus you pick how many rounds you play, so you can strategize your playing a lot more. I guess I’m a girl that likes chance, so this game really isn’t going to be for me all the time. But I am having a winning streak, so I may keep up with it!
