This weekend, I finally took the time for myself and got a hair cut. I think the last one was when Gabe was 4 months old. Now I am wondering when the first time I will have to take Gabe in for a hair cut. As of right now he has hair–you can barely see it–but it is there. If he is anything like his mother–probably not until he is about 2! Andy likes him with no hair, but I think part of that is because he thinks that makes Gabe look more like him. Andy has started almost shaving his head–like a buzz cut. It was either that or hair supplements to help grow some hair. I think both my boys are very handsome with no visable hair!

If someone would have told me 6 years ago that I would end up and Home Depot at least once a month if not every other weekend, I would have said they were nuts. The weirdest thing is that I am actually starting to like the place. About 3 weeks ago, we bought 2 bedroom doors. The prior owners had installed doors that don’t even close and ones that are flush. The rest of the doors in our house are 6 panel. So we have been patiently waiting for a good deal. The greastest thing about Home Depot is they meet and beat for price. Menard’s had wood pre-hung 6 panel doors for like $60 dollars each. So Home Depot matched and took off 10% of the price. Then 2 weeks ago–we bought a new kitchen faucet. I’m actually looking forward to going this coming weekend to look at fans!

It is almost spring time. But what does spring entail for Wisconsin? Usually snow until the end of April. Most nights I just want to curl up with Andy and Gabe in a electric blanket to keep warm and watching Jeopardy. For some reason Gabe really loves Jeopardy–wonder if that has anything to do with watching it religously while I was pregnant. I really missed being able to use one last year when I was pregnant. The other reason I am ready for winter to end because I am sick of being sick and I am sick of Gabe beig sick.

Wow, having a new baby really takes time. That is why I haven’t been blogging as much. We have been soooo busy. Gabe had eye surgery to help his clogged duct (which worked), just got over a double ear infection and possible RSV. Gabe enjoyed his first Xmas–getting lots of toys–including a trainset that he won’t be able to use for about 2 years! He is almost walking—lets go of the couch and balances for about 4 seconds before landing on his butt!
Bad news is my company is laying off people. My husband nor I were in the first wave. But a couple of my coworkers are. They are taking it a lot better than I think I would. But I guess we will just wait and see and keep buying those lottery tickets!

After being gone from home since Wednesday, it is so nice to be back home. You could just see the happiness and relief on Gabe’s face when we took him out of the carseat and set him on the floor this afternoon. For Thanksgiving, we usually spend at Andy’s parents, who live 6 hours away. I have found that packing with a baby triples your load for traveling. I almost forgot to pack acne treatment. We even packed the Megasaucer–which with three bags, a bin of baby stuff and diapers and baby in a Prius left us with a very cramped ride. Baby did good though. Ont the way there, only had to stop 2 times and on the way home only stopped once. If the trips didn’t take too much out of me, then I would suggest maybe visiting more if Gabe has more trips like that, but lets see how long it takes him to get back on track. Problem is, this week will probably be just as upsetting to him because he will not be at daycare. Our daycare lady is going to Las Vegas to bury her mother for a week. So its off to Grandma’s for the week. Fun Fun!

Gabe had a doctor’s appointment on Friday was pretty uneventful. He is 28 inches, 18 pounds 11.5 ounces. He is right on track with weight and height. He got his shots and we also got an referral to an eye doctor for his eye. Since birth, he has had an issue with his left eye getting all goopy. The doctor said it could still clear up on its own, but it’ll be like 3 months until we get into the eye doctor to “open up the eye duct.” From what the doctor says, it is not a pleasant procedure. I am just hoping it resolves on its own and we don’t have to keep the appointment.

While at Best Buy the other day, I really started to think like a mother. I was looking at some Wii games when I saw a young boy playing Wii Resort (which by the way rocks–really fun). I really am considering getting Wii Super Mario Brothers Wii–I always loved the game on Nintendo. Anyways, back to Best Buy–The worst thing is that the entire time he was playing the game, he was standing there coughing open mouthed all over the place, never once trying to cover his mouth. I, for one, will probably never play a game at a store ever again without first wanting to sanitize it.

I really feel for our daycare lady. Since we have joined the daycare 5 months ago, her ex, her uncle and now mother has passed away. This is one heck of a way to end the year. I am still a bit in shock about her mother. One day we see her, and then she is gone. It is amazing how short life really is when you stop to think about it. Our daycare lady’s father now is in the hospital, so we hope he gets better. We are hoping the old wives tale that bad things comes in threes so that she can end the year maybe on a more happier note.

I do not know what it is about this Xmas, but it seems like no one has been asking for Xmas lists. It is probably a good thing because I do not have much on the lists. I do not know what I want for Xmas. Its not like I need a Bluetooth headset–I mean, I could use it, but its not something I would actually ask for or buy myself. This year, I think I am going to ask for some Wii games and Wii accesories. I always ask for something for the house and this year, I decided to pick up something for me.

Sometimes, the best thing to do is not to say anything at all. Kate Gosselin understands that, it doesn’t seem that Jon does at all. It was so very nice not reading/seeing anything in/on the news for a week. Until this weekend–Jon is suing TLC for 5 million dollars. Something to do with defaming his character—I do not think TLC had anything to do with that. I think opening his own mouth in the last few months is all anyone needed to hear for people not to want to associate or work with him. But that’s just me. Maybe its because I am a new mom, but I am so on Team Kate. Back when Kate and Jon were married, my hubby would have immediately sided with Jon. But as soon as they seperated and Jon started talking smack, he jumped over to Team Kate. (Can you tell Twilight: New Moon is opening this weekend–I’m Team Edward)
