Gabe learned something yesterday–meaning I have to keep a closer eye on him. He learned to climb onto the couch. Now that he can get up unassisted, I am not going to be able to leave him in the living room by himself for a couple minutes. I try not to spoil Gabe, but I do not want him to struggle to much. But lately he hasn’t been a good boy on the couch–he wants to jump or he whips himself into the back of the couch, almost flinging himself off. Yesterday, I had already given him 2 timeouts for being bad on the couch. He had been crying and trying to pull himself up using my hands. I thought, maybe if I sit on the floor, he won’t want to go on the couch. Bad mommy, thinking it was only about me. He still wanted the couch. He cried and cried and cried, before actually doing it himself. It kind of taught me a lesson to let him try stuff out.

Lately, I have been having issues with not charging my MP3 before i go to work, so I am stuck listening to the radio. You know what companies have the best jingles–the ones for sales job. I myself am not looking for a job, but if I were, I know I could also work at J.J kELLER, (song is in my head right now). I actually have no idea what they do there except sales, but I do know they have a great jingle that will be stuck in my head all day! That would be a job I think i would want some day if I were creative. If you could walk around and hear people singing something you wrote–oh great now the “Give me back my filet of fish” is in my head. Or it could be my baby playing with the Frankie the Fish I bought for daddy for fathers day. So it may not really be in my head!

It is Saturday and such a crappy looking day here in Wisconsin. Oddly enough, though, you would think the rain and cold (Like 40 degrees) would make me just want to lounge around all day. But no. I have already done 1 load of laundry, put away 2 baskets of laundry and made breakfast. Baked French Toast for the family and chocolate milk–its one of my only specialities thats a meal. Otherwise I only make brownies, cupcakes (recent addition), spinach artichoke dip and chili con queso. My hubby thinks I should take a cooking class so I become more comfortable cooking. My biggest problem with cooking is I am a visual person, I need to see what I am supposed to being doing and what my recipe should look like when I am all done.

My hubby asked me this totally unreasonable question yesterday–Can we get rid of cable? I looked at him like he was nuts. I love tv, granted I may watch it a little too much, but really what else did we get Samsung HDTV for? We spent about $1000 on it, and just to use as decoration? I do not think so. He just feels like we are getting taken by Uverse right now. I told him to call Uverse and see what they will do for us. How can I not see whats going on with Robin and Patrick on General Hospital or really he wants to get rid of it right before new fall season starts? Not to mention–how does one live without DVR. I have had it so long, I do not know what I would do without it!

I wish I could lie and say I like the Packers. But I really do not. I am not a sports fan and when you have lived by the stadium all your life and had to plan your weekends around traffic, it really starts to grate on your nerves. My husband does not understand this hatred I have. I like having the freedom to go to the mall, but it is so much harder on Packer home games. Not to mention if there’s a friday night game and I wanted to go downtown. A drive that should only take 5 minutes ends up taking half an hour, if not more. This is not to say we will not buy the lottery tickets (for paying the tax on the stadium, if you live in Brown County–you can be entered into raffle to win the upper seating tickets–you could get pre season of actual season.) This is the first year I have gotten preseason in like 7 years. We have had some lucky years–Bears Monday night, Vikings Monday night, and then this year–Vikings–against Brett Favre. Those tickets we are hoping to make a killing on! Especially since we are coming up short this game–no one wants to see the Colts I guess!

Growing up, you think your parents know everything. As you grow up though, you realize your parents do not know as much as you think they do–at least not with technology. I had a phone conversation with my dad the other day while he was trying to do some full color printing but was having issues with his computer linking to the printer. Personally, I have no idea how to fix this either. But I offered our computer and printer for my father if he knew how to email the attachment to himself. I tried explaining this to my mother–but realized as soon as I said attachment, she was lost. I want my baby to smart, but I do not know if I can handle him ever knowing more than I do.

My best friend moved up her wedding from sometime in May to October 8. So we kind of had to scramble for a wedding shower and a bachelorette party. Well, I got her to come home for the shower so I added a bachelorette party on top of that. Then I realized I needed something naughty for her. So I figured I could order her something. I have used Fredricks in the past, and remembered something about being pretty quick. That is what I needed. I decided on Wednesday to order a gift and needed in 10 days, the site says 5-9 days for shipping. First of all, the only problem I had was picking out the size. The site itself is great with giving sizes and measurements, its the measurements I was given by the bride-to-be. She has some really messed up meausrements! I shouldn’t talk, my measurements are about the same just in a couple sizes bigger–darn a big booty! But with all the choices of lingrie, the hardest part was trying to figure out how naughty I wanted to be for her. I ordered last Wednesday and I got it today! I am so happy with the service, I know I will use it again. Although I think we have most of our friends married ofF! Maybe just for me next time!

Okay really, its Bad mommy. I have been calling Andy by his name in front of Gabriel a little too much. I have noticed lately that I think Gabe is trying to say Andy instead of Daddy. Right now he has a few words/phrases in his vocabulary. He can say Adi (our cat), nighty nite and nuttin on you. Yes we taught him B.O.B’s song. It is not our fault he loved that song and “Alejandro” more than the kids songs we should have been singing him! At daycare they are doing the “Your Baby can read” DVDs. I am not sure if its working, but he loves books. He has recently started picking them up and babbling–its the cutest thing in the world. I really sound like a proud momma, don’t I?

So, I have been a little absent lately. Partly it is because I had a broken laptop and couldnt bring myself to use a—gasp–desktop computer. I do not know if it was because it was just getting to the end of time–the battery kept on dying after only being unplugged for about 10 minutes. Then about a month ago, the screen stopped working. The computer itself works–we know by hooking it up to the TV. But we asked Office Depot–they said it would cost about a grand to fix. Umm, no. Id rather get a new one for half the price. I never thought of Office Depot for buying a computer–but it was pretty good deal. $429–I couldnt pass that up!

As far back as I can remember, I can not remember a more wet summer. It seems like every other day here in Wisconsin, we have a thunderstorm which causes a flash flood on our street. Luckily we are higher up then our neighbors, so we haven’t had much issue, but our neighbors backyard is more of lake than a backyard. Many people are now not venturing out when they know a thunderstorm is coming because they do not want to be stuck or flooded because they are not sure if their car insurance companies will cover water damage. Luckily the last time we got stuck in a flash flood, all we had to do was let the car dry out. But I will be home next time it storms, just to be safe!
