Growing up, you think your parents know everything. As you grow up though, you realize your parents do not know as much as you think they do–at least not with technology. I had a phone conversation with my dad the other day while he was trying to do some full color printing but was having issues with his computer linking to the printer. Personally, I have no idea how to fix this either. But I offered our computer and printer for my father if he knew how to email the attachment to himself. I tried explaining this to my mother–but realized as soon as I said attachment, she was lost. I want my baby to smart, but I do not know if I can handle him ever knowing more than I do.

My best friend moved up her wedding from sometime in May to October 8. So we kind of had to scramble for a wedding shower and a bachelorette party. Well, I got her to come home for the shower so I added a bachelorette party on top of that. Then I realized I needed something naughty for her. So I figured I could order her something. I have used Fredricks in the past, and remembered something about being pretty quick. That is what I needed. I decided on Wednesday to order a gift and needed in 10 days, the site says 5-9 days for shipping. First of all, the only problem I had was picking out the size. The site itself is great with giving sizes and measurements, its the measurements I was given by the bride-to-be. She has some really messed up meausrements! I shouldn’t talk, my measurements are about the same just in a couple sizes bigger–darn a big booty! But with all the choices of lingrie, the hardest part was trying to figure out how naughty I wanted to be for her. I ordered last Wednesday and I got it today! I am so happy with the service, I know I will use it again. Although I think we have most of our friends married ofF! Maybe just for me next time!

Okay really, its Bad mommy. I have been calling Andy by his name in front of Gabriel a little too much. I have noticed lately that I think Gabe is trying to say Andy instead of Daddy. Right now he has a few words/phrases in his vocabulary. He can say Adi (our cat), nighty nite and nuttin on you. Yes we taught him B.O.B’s song. It is not our fault he loved that song and “Alejandro” more than the kids songs we should have been singing him! At daycare they are doing the “Your Baby can read” DVDs. I am not sure if its working, but he loves books. He has recently started picking them up and babbling–its the cutest thing in the world. I really sound like a proud momma, don’t I?

So, I have been a little absent lately. Partly it is because I had a broken laptop and couldnt bring myself to use a—gasp–desktop computer. I do not know if it was because it was just getting to the end of time–the battery kept on dying after only being unplugged for about 10 minutes. Then about a month ago, the screen stopped working. The computer itself works–we know by hooking it up to the TV. But we asked Office Depot–they said it would cost about a grand to fix. Umm, no. Id rather get a new one for half the price. I never thought of Office Depot for buying a computer–but it was pretty good deal. $429–I couldnt pass that up!

As far back as I can remember, I can not remember a more wet summer. It seems like every other day here in Wisconsin, we have a thunderstorm which causes a flash flood on our street. Luckily we are higher up then our neighbors, so we haven’t had much issue, but our neighbors backyard is more of lake than a backyard. Many people are now not venturing out when they know a thunderstorm is coming because they do not want to be stuck or flooded because they are not sure if their car insurance companies will cover water damage. Luckily the last time we got stuck in a flash flood, all we had to do was let the car dry out. But I will be home next time it storms, just to be safe!

A coworker just got a Nook from her husband for working so much overtime lately and quitting smoking. I am really really really jealous. What is a Nook? A Nook is a e-book. For a long time, I thought I would not be able to use one, but I watched someone read one at the airport a couple months back. It looks just like you are reading from a book. It would be helpful outside and the best thing is that its battery works for 10 days. And Barnes and Noble has a bunch of free books! I have started dropping hints to Andy to get me one. I am thinking he is not going to get the hints!

I read Melissa Gilbert’s autobiography “My Prairie Life.” I realized that some people are not as they seem or portray in real life. I always thought she was such a good girl and I really was surprised to find out she ran with The Brat Pack. (Sadly I do not think kids today know who the Brat Pack are–Go Anthony Michael Hall–and off to another tangent. Is Psych going to have all the Breakfast club on? They have had Judd Nelson and Ally Sheedy.) She was even engaged to Rob Lowe! The book was a fast read because she had a very interesting life. It wasn’t like reading directory submissions. I kind of wish there was more about her Little House on the Prairie days, but I think that is more because that is what I know her from. That and Lifetime movies. Actually her life could be a Lifetime movie. You have to read the book to really get an understanding of all that she has been though. My favorite part of the book was actually just a little snippet about Johnny Depp. First of all, I am so jealous of her for sitting next to Johnny Depp. Secondly Johnny Depp was checking out her and touched her! I want Johnny to touch me! The other great thing about the book is the afterword of all the suggestions of what the book should be called. My favorite suggestion was Little Ho on the Prarie.

I’m leaving on a jet plane and I do know when I will back back again. Problem is, I think my baby is going to have a bigger suitcase than my husband and I together. Its just so hard packing with a baby in mind. You need diapers. You need wipes, baby food, formula, sleepers, multiple sets of clothing, burp rags, towels, bottles. I just have this fear we are going to forget something. I think we are actually going to have to borrow my parents big suitcase. The other thing that we plan on doing is purchasing diapers and food while we are there, so we shouldn’t have to bring too much, but I want to be prepared.
The worst thing is that right now our baby is fighting something off. He has had an up and down fever all day.

I do not know what is with me lately, but I crave chocolate every day. I have a Hershey bar every morning. It’s catching up with me, but not in the way I expected. I’m leaving the pounds off, but I have finding I am having to find some adult acne treatments. Ever since Gabe, I haven’t been gotten those hormones under control. It doesn’t help that there are all these holidays with chocolate and candy all over the place. Speaking of chocolate–I need to go have a Hershey Kiss!

We love Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives on the Food Network. We thought it would be cool to actually try out a resturaunt. We were watching a while back and noticed there was in Illinois. So we decided that the next time we visited my sister, we would stop there. Its called The Shanty in Wadsworth, IL. We yahoo mapped it and when we got to the street, we realized we have driven past it a hundred times, never really noticing it. We always stopped at the gas station at the corner. It looks like a dump from the outside. Nothing really stands out. But the food makes the difference. We were seated immediately–the only thing that annoyed me was the host (the owner–only knew that cuz of seeing it on tv) didn’t ask if we need a highchair. He was too busy talking about being on the website. I wanted to stop there because they had mussles. But we decided that we needed to get something that we couldn’t get anything else. We ordered alligator bites–deep fried alligator. I hate to say it–it tastes like juicy chicken—yummmy! For the main course I got a hamburger. They do have a conch steak–but it was expensive for lunch and would probably have to be something we split. We plan on going back because there were plenty of things on the menu we would like to order. Oh and one other complaint–the bathroom did not have changing table. That’s my new criteria that I rate places with. I give it a 91 out of 100.
